With their low calorie and rich nutrient content, citrus fruits are an important element of the daily diets of individuals living in Mediterranean countries. Although the origin of citrus fruits lies in Southeast Asia, today the Mediterranean Basin comes to the fore in terms of production and trade. In this study, the competitiveness of the countries in the Mediterranean Basin, which has a coast to the Mediterranean, in the world citrus trade between 2005-2019 was competitiveness demonstrated. for this research, Balassa's relative comparative advantages, revealed symmetric comparative advantage and Lafay indexes are used. As a result of the study, the rate of increase in the total production and exports of the can countries in the Mediterranean Basin is realized under the world average. However, the noticeable dynamic increase in the production and exports of the developing countries in the region ensures the continuity of the competitive power of the Mediterranean Basin. To increase the market competitiveness of the region, it is suggested that state policies make citrus production activities an important issue.
Agricultural production is threatened by climate change due to depending on global warming. Beekeeping is come of the agricultural activities most affected by climate change. In addition to honey production, honey bees, which provide pollination, can adversely affect agricultural production due to climate change. Methods and Results: In this study, during the period of 1970-2019 in Turkey, temperature and precipitation averages, which are indicators of climate change, with the most effects of the amount of CO₂, which causing on the most carbon emission, effects to honey yield were examined.Pearson correlation analysis to determine the relationship between variables in the study; ARDL (Autoregressive Distributed Lag) model, one of the time series analysis methods, was applied to determine the effect of climate change on honey yield. In the determined model, while honey yield and average temperature are negative, average precipitation and CO₂ emission have a positive and significant relationship, a positive and significant relationship has been detected only with CO₂ release in the long period. Conclusions: According to the findings, there is a moderate level between CO2 emission and honey yield; there is a exist to weak level relationship between temperature, average precipitation variables and honey yield. Significance and Impact of the Study: In the last 50 years, an 8-fold in carbon emissions (CO₂) and average temperature 1.2 ͦ C has been observed an increased in Turkey. Although honey yield in this period increased by 62%, a decrease of 6% was observed in the last 20 years.
Purpose: In this study, in at the Cukurova Region, the effect of incentives applied for export oriented in Turkey in the food industry was investigated, how effective is of these incentives, problems revealed encountered in exports and solutions were presented. Design/Methodology/Approach: The data obtained through the face-to-face survey study were analyzed with the SPSS package program and the structure of the enterprises, the extent to which they benefited from export incentives, the perceptions and risks of these incentives were tried to be revealed. Findings: Although the majority of enterprises as a result of the study they stated that foreign trade incentives were insufficient, they stated that incentives contribute to the creation of new markets, growth potential in production and employment. Originality/Value: The level of utilization, perceptions and attitudes of the companies benefiting from export incentives in the food industry against the incentives were determined and the things to be done in the short, medium and long term were determined.
