Objective To analyze the clinical and obstetric aspects of pregnant women with COVID-19. Methods A systematic literature review in the MEDLINE/PubMed, LILACS, SCIELO, and CNKI databases was performed from March to May 2020, with the descriptors: Pregnancy; 2019-nCov; Coronavirus; SARS-Cov-2, Covid-19. Of those chosen were original titles, without language and period restriction and that addressed pregnant women with a clinical and/or laboratory diagnosis of COVID-19. Revisions, editorials, and duplicate titles were excluded. The Newcastle-Ottawa (NOS) and Murad et al. scales were used to assess the quality of the studies. Results We included 34 articles with 412 pregnant women infected with severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS-Cov-2), with an average age of 27.5 years of age and 36.0 gestational weeks. The most common symptom was fever (205 [49.7%]), and 89 (21.6%) pregnant women progressed to severe viral pneumonia. Laboratory tests showed an increase in C-reactive protein (154 [37.8%]), and radiological tests showed pneumonia with peripheral ground-glass pattern (172 [51.4%]). Emergency cesarean delivery was indicated for most pregnant women, and the most common gestational complication was premature rupture of ovarian membranes (14 [3.4%;]). We detected 2 (0.5%) neonatal deaths, 2 (0.5%) stillbirths, and 1 (0.2%) maternal death. Conclusion Pregnant women with COVID-19 presented a clinical picture similar to that of non-infected pregnant women, with few obstetric or neonatal repercussions. There was a greater indication of cesarean deliveries before the disease aggravated, and there was no evidence of vertical transmission of the infection.

Objective: To explore factors that interact and shape the meaning and experience of mothers of HIV-exposed children in relation to replacing breastfeeding by infant formula. Method: A qualitative study was carried out with 23 mothers living with HIV, whose children were up to 18 months of age and under follow-up in a specialized care service. Symbolic Interactionism, semi-structured interviews and content analysis were adopted as theoretical framework. Results: The social symbols of breastfeeding, the (un)availability of the milk formula and the (lack of)support of health professionals influenced the mothers’ experience with formula feeding. Social, cultural and economic constraints have proved capable of undermining the conditions necessary for the replacement of breastfeeding. Final considerations: The availability of infant formula, access to lactation inhibitor and quality of health services still represent challenges to eradicate new HIV infections in children.

Objetivo: Evaluar la calidad de la asistencia en una Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos maternos, ha tenido por base indicadores de estructura proceso y resultados. Material y método: Estudio descriptivo, de análisis documental con abordaje cuantitativo. La colecta de datos ocurrió entre enero y febrero de 2017 en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos maternos de una maternidad de referencia en Piauí. Fue utilizado un guion observacional con muestra censal de 72 pacientes. Resultados: El eje higiene, confort y seguridad mostró una asistencia global deseable, excepto para los indicadores de nutrición e hidratación que presentaron asistencia tolerable o limíte. El eje que presentó mejores resultados fue las anotaciones de enfermería con asistencia deseable en gran parte de los artículos analizados. Conclusión: El estudio evidenció resultados satisfactorios de forma general, sin embargo, es importante que ocurran mejoras en la asistencia de enfermería a las pacientes ingresadas en la unidad de cuidados intensivos maternosl, sobre todo para los indicadores de nutrición e hidratación.   Objective: To evaluate the quality of care provided in a maternal intensive care unit, based on indicators of structure, process and results. Material and methods: Descriptive study of documentary analysis with a quantitative approach. Data collection happened between January and February 2017 at the Maternal Intensive Care Unit of a reference maternity hospital in Piauí. An observational script with a census sample of 72 patients was used. Results: The hygiene, comfort and safety axis showed adequate care. However, the nutrition and hydration indicators presented with risky and undesirable care. The axis that presented the best results was nursing records with adequate care in most of the analyzed items. Conclusion: The study showed satisfactory results in general; however, attention should be given to improvements in nursing care for patients hospitalized in the Maternal Intensive Care Unit, especially for the nutrition and hydration indicators. Objetivo: Avaliar a qualidade da assistência em uma Unidade de Terapia Intensiva Materna, tendo por base indicadores de estrutura, processo e resultados. Material e método: Estudo descritivo, de análise documental com abordagem quantitativa. A coleta de dados ocorreu entre os meses de janeiro e fevereiro de 2017 na Unidade de Terapia Intensiva materna de uma maternidade de referência do Piauí. Utilizou-se roteiro observacional com amostra censitária de 72 pacientes. Resultados: O eixo higiene, conforto e segurança demonstraram uma assistência global desejável, exceto para os indicadores nutrição e hidratação que apresentaram assistência sofrível ou limítrofe. O eixo que apresentou melhores resultados foi anotações de enfermagem com assistência desejável em grande parte dos itens analisados. Conclusão: O estudo evidenciou resultados satisfatórios de forma geral, entretanto, chama-se atenção para melhoras na assistência de enfermagem às pacientes internadas na Unidade de Terapia Intensiva Materna, sobretudo para os indicadores nutrição e hidratação.

Introducción: El desempeño de la enfermería obstétrica en el escenario del parto y el parto, ha ido ganando protagonismo por ser una profesional considerada una figura indispensable para el logro de un parto humanizado, con el objetivo de rescatar la autonomía de las mujeres. Materiales y métodos: Este es un estudio cuasi experimental, antes y después, que desarrolló una intervención educativa, realizada a través de un curso de capacitación aplicado al personal de enfermería. Celebrada del 01 al 03 de agosto de 2018 en la sala de partos de un hospital de maternidad en Teresina-PI. Se solicitó la autorización del comité de enseñanza e investigación de la institución, con una opinión favorable para llevar a cabo. Resultados: Treinta y dos profesionales participaron en la intervención, con la mayoría del personal de enfermería del centro obstétrico, con 87.50% de técnicos de enfermería y 85.71% de enfermeras obstétricas. Se puede observar que en la prueba previa hubo un mayor número de errores en las preguntas, 5 con 46.87% de error y 10 con 32.50% de error en el tema de cuidados de enfermería en trabajo de parto y parto, con mejoría después de la aplicación de la intervención con 18.75 y 9.25 errores respectivamente en el examen posterior. Discusión: Frente a varias opciones de estrategias de instrucción, la educación continua tiene un lugar destacado en enfermería, porque a partir de los resultados, podemos ver la mejora del conocimiento de profesionales después de aplicar la intervención educativa. Conclusión: La intervención permitió a los profesionales ampliar sus conocimientos y proporcionar al binomio madre-RN una atención humanizada respaldada por evidencia científica. Introduction: The performance of obstetric nursing in the scenario of labor and childbirth has gained prominence because nursing professionals are considered indispensable actors for the achievement of humanized birth, to rescue the autonomy of women. Materials and methods: This is a quasi-experimental study of the before and after type, in which an educational intervention was developed, conducted through a training course applied to the nursing staff. The study was accomplished from August 01 to 03, 2018, in the childbirth room of a maternity hospital in Teresina-PI. Authorization from the teaching and research committee of the institution was requested, with a favorable Opinion for its realization. Results: Thirty-two professionals participated in the intervention. The majority was from the obstetric center; 87.50% were nursing technicians and 85.71% obstetric nurses. There was a greater number of errors in questions 5 (46.87% of error) and 10 (32.50% of error) in the pre-test, in the theme nursing care in labor and childbirth, and an improvement of to 18.75 and 9.25 of error, respectively, in the post-test. Discussion: Among the several options of instructional strategies, continuing education has a prominent place in nursing, as the results of this study showed an improvement in the knowledge of professionals after application of the educational intervention. Conclusion: The intervention allowed the professionals to broaden their knowledge and provide the mother-newborn binomial with a humanized care supported by scientific evidence.

Objetivo: Identificar estratégias e intervenções de promoção da saúde destinadas à população masculina bem como analisar as principais temáticas abordadas. Metodologia: Trata-se de revisão integrativa no qual buscaram-se as publicações nas bases CINAHL, MEDLINE e LILACS, do período de 2010 a 2017. Nesse sentido os descritores (em português) da pesquisa são: saúde do homem, ensino, educação médica, educação em enfermagem, educação em saúde, e ocorreram por análise de resumos encontrados pela combinação dos buscadores. Ao final foram encontradas 73 publicações das quais 18 foram analisadas. Resultados: Apontaram que das 18 publicações em 9 (50,0%) não houveram intervenção educativa e nas demais houve. As publicações foram organizadas em três eixos temáticos: Saúde do homem, Intervenções educativas direcionadas a população masculina e Ações direcionadas ao contexto profissional. Considerações finais: O conhecimento dos temas mais comuns na literatura nacional e mundial relacionados a saúde é de fundamental importância para a elaboração e execução de ações de educação em saúde capazes promover uma mudança de comportamento do público masculino no tocante a sua saúde.
