Visando a definir critérios para o manejo da irrigação para alface tipo americana, cv. Raider, esse trabalho foi desenvolvido para avaliar o efeito de diferentes tensões da água no solo sobre o comportamento produtivo da cultura, em ambiente protegido, na região de Lavras - MG. O experimento foi instalado em casa de vegetação com delineamento em blocos casualizados, tendo quatro repetições. Os tratamentos foram constituídos de seis tensões de água no solo como indicativas do momento de irrigar. As tensões preestabelecidas foram 15; 30; 45; 60; 75 e 90 kPa, à profundidade de 0,15 m. Os resultados permitiram concluir que, no emprego de tensões em torno de 15 kPa, há tendência em obter plantas mais altas, com maior peso de matéria fresca comercial e menor teor de matéria seca da parte comercial. Também foi possível observar melhor eficiência no uso da água (469,22 kg ha-1 mm-1) sob tensão de 15 kPa.

A farinha de folhas de mandioca apresenta relativamente, elevados teores de proteínas porém, sua digestibilidade é baixa. Isso poderia ser atribuído, parcialmente, ao seu teor em fibras [20]. Em ensaio biológico com ratos realizado por VILAS-BÔAS [28] empregando dietas contendo a parte aérea de mandioca como fonte de fibras, nas proporções de 5, 10 e 15% de fibras, foi concluído que ratos alimentados com as dietas contendo fibras apresentaram crescimento menor e diminuição da eficiência alimentar em relação ao grupo controle. Houve também diminuição da digestibilidade protéica in vivo, sendo inversamente proporcional aos níveis de fibras da dieta.Além das fibras, outros componentes químicos podem ter efeito prejudicial sobre o aproveitamento protéico. Os polifenóis, por exemplo, reduzem a digestibilidade e a disponibilidade de aminoácidos, como a lisina, em que seu grupo ε-amino torna-se indisponível [16,23]. A presença de polifenóis (taninos) influencia também negativamente a disponibilidade de metionina [19] e, além disso, agrava a deficiência inerente de aminoá-cidos sulfurados das folhas de mandioca. A metionina além de doadora de grupos metil [11] é fonte de enxofre para a detoxificação de cianeto [20].Neste trabalho empregaram-se três solventes para remover os polifenóis da farinha de folhas de mandioca, objetivando-se melhoria na digestibilidade da proteína. Nutrientes e antinutrientes foram analisados nas farinhas, antes e após a remoção dos polifenóis. -MATERIAL E MÉTODOS -Coleta e preparo da amostraAs folhas maduras e frescas de mandioca (Manihot RESUMOA farinha de folhas de mandioca apresenta baixa digestibilidade, mesmo possuindo um teor relativamente elevado em proteínas, principalmente, devido à presença de substâncias como os polifenóis. Visando melhorar o aproveitamento protéico desta farinha, empregaram-se três solventes (água, etanol 50mL/100mL e hidróxido de amônio 1mol/L) para remover os polifenóis. Folhas maduras de mandioca foram coletadas na fase vegetativa, em três repetições, colocadas em bandejas de papel e secas à sombra sobre bancadas de madeira, em recinto fechado e arejado, em temperatura ambiente. Após secagem, retiraram-se os pecíolos e as folhas foram moídas e passadas em peneira de 40mesh. A farinha foi submetida, antes e após a remoção dos polifenóis, às análises de umidade, fibra detergente neutra (FDN), fibra detergente ácida (FDA), açúcares totais, proteína bruta, vitamina C total, β-caroteno, cianeto, inibidor de tripsina, polifenóis e digestibilidade protéica in vitro. Após remoção dos polifenóis, houve diminuição dos teores de açúcares totais, vitamina C total, inibidor de tripsina e polifenóis e aumento de FDN, FDA, proteína bruta, β-caroteno e digestibilidade protéica in vitro. Dos solventes empregados para remover polifenóis, o hidróxido de amônio foi o mais eficaz, com índice de remoção de 94%, seguido pelo etanol (83%) e água (65%). A digestibilidade da proteína in vitro aumentou em 74%, quando o solvente empregado na remoção dos polifenóis foi o hidróxido de amônio...

RESUMO -O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o uso de proteção contra queima solar e o efeito de diferentes lâminas de irrigação na qualidade dos frutos de abacaxizeiro 'Pérola'. O experimento foi conduzido na área experimental, no município de Janaúba-MG. O sistema de irrigação utilizado foi o gotejamentoe a quantidade de lâmina de irrigação aplicada foi calculada com base na evaporação do Tanque Classe-A (ECA). A proteção dos frutos contra queima solar foi realizada após o fechamento das últimas flores. O delineamento foi em blocos casualizados, segundo o esquema de parcelas subdivididas 5 x 5, tendo nas parcelas cinco lâminas de irrigação (30 %, 50 %, 70 %, 100 % e 150 % da ECA) e nas subparcelas 4 tipos de proteção: jornal, saco de papel marrom, TNT branco nº 40 e solução contendo cal a 10 %, além da testemunha, com quatro repetições. Avaliaram-se porcentagem de frutos com queima solar, firmeza, sólidos solúveis totais (SST), acidez total titulável (ATT), pH e relação SST/ATT da polpa. Os frutos protegidos com TNT apresentaram menor porcentagem de queima solar. A lâmina referente a 77 % da ECA, associada à proteção com TNT ou com a cal proporcionam maiores valores de SST. PROTECTION AGAINST SUNBURN OF PINEAPPLE FRUITS SUBMITTED TO DIFFERENT IRRIGATION LEVELSABSTRACT -The purpose of this study was to evaluate the use of solar protection against sunburn and the effect of different irrigation levels on fruit quality of pineapple 'Pérola'. The experiment was conducted in the experimental area in Janaúba, MG. The irrigation system used was drip and the amount of depth water applied was calculated based on the class-A evaporation pan (PAN). The protection of fruits against sunburn was made after floral closure. The design was randomized blocks, according to the split plots 5 x 4, with five irrigation depth (30%, 50%, 70%, 100% and 150% of PAN) and the subplots are 4 types of protections: newspaper, brown paper bag, TNT white nº 40 and lime solution 10% and the control, with four replications. It was evaluated the percentage of fruits with symptoms of sunburn, pulp firmness, total soluble solids (TSS), total titratable acidity (TTA), pH and TSS/TTA. Fruits protected with TNT showed a lower percentage of sunburn. The irrigation depth regarding 77% of PAN associated with TNT or lime protection resulted in higher TSS values.

ABSTRACT:We evaluate the application of treated sanitary wastewater (TSW) to provide potassium for crops and reduce demand for fresh water and mineral nutrients. The field experiment was arranged in randomized block design with four replications and five treatments: 50, 100, 150 and 200% of potassium requirements and a control with conventional fertilizer. The TSW was applied to maize (November 2012 to February 2013, cotton (June to November 2013) and bean (April to June 2014). After bean, soil chemical properties were evaluated until 0.8 m depth. Fertigation with TSW to potassium fertilization provided about 50% of water, nitrogen and phosphorus to the bean. The soil nutrient availability and soil organic matter did not increase, whereas sodium had linear increased with TSW levels in investigated soil depth. Soil pH showed same behavior that sodium, with the highest pH level of 6.5 in 0-0.2 m soil layer. Soil nutrients and organic matter did not increase with TSW doses up to 0.8 m depth. Soil pH and sodium had linear increasing with TSW doses, respectively up to 0.6 and 0.8 m soil depth. Fertigation with potassium recommendation also provided a high content of sodium, threatening the balance of soil-plant system with continuous use. The sodium should be the first reference to permanent wastewater reuse in agriculture.

RESUMO Avaliou-se o crescimento vegetativo e a produção de milho em campo, fertirrigado com diferentes doses de água residuária da estação de tratamento de esgoto de Janaúba, Minas Gerais. Utilizou-se o delineamento em quatro blocos casualizados com parcelas subdivididas, sendo cinco tratamentos: água limpa + adubação mineral; e água residuária tratada equivalente a 50; 100; 150 e 200% da adubação com 60 kg.ha-1 de K2O em cobertura. Nas subparcelas, avaliaram-se as plantas aos 24, 38, 51 e 74 dias após a emergência. O fornecimento de doses de potássio via água residuária tratada além de 142% da dose recomendada do nutriente reduz o diâmetro transversal da copa. A produtividade do milho em grãos não é influenciada pela aplicação de água residuária tratada.

Além disso, a maioria das comunidades rurais não é atendida com sistemas de tratamento de esgoto, gerando efluentes com potencial uso agrícola. Assim, avaliou-se o crescimento e a produtividade do algodoeiro, fertirrigado com diferentes doses de água residuária sanitária bruta (ARB) e efluente de tratamento terciário (ART), visando o fornecimento de potássio em cobertura, na dose referência de 40 kg ha-1 de K2O. O experimento de campo seguiu o esquema de parcelas subdivididas no tempo, tendo nas parcelas cinco tratamentos (Testemunha: Água limpa e adubação mineral; 100% e 150% da dose referência de potássio em cobertura tanto via ART quanto via ARB) e nas subparcelas quatro épocas de avaliação, no delineamento em blocos casualizados, com quatro repetições. Os tratamentos com ambas as águas residuárias suprem a necessidade de potássio em cobertura da cultura sem prejudicar o diâmetro caulinar, número de folhas, diâmetro de copa e altura, bem como a produtividade da cultura. Furthermore, most rural communities do not have sewage treatment systems, generating effluents with potential agricultural use. Thus, we assessed growth and yield of cotton fertigated with different doses of raw sanitary wastewater (ARB) and effluent of tertiary treatment (ART), to supply potassium topdressing according to reference dose of 40 kg K2O ha-1. The field experiment in randomized blocks and split-plot in time design with four replications was used with five treatments (control: Clean water and mineral fertilizer; 100% and 150% of potassium reference dose in topdressing by ARB or ART application) and four evaluation times in subplots. The two wastewater sources meet the potassium topdressing requirements without any effect on stem diameter, leaf number, crown diameter and cotton height, or yield. Sewage sludge is rich in organic matter and nutrients for the plants, and can be used in pineapple production, but there are few studies with scientific evaluation of possible inorganic and biological contaminants in pineapple plantations. In view of the above, this study aimed to evaluate the contamination of the soil and in fruits of pineapple fertilized with sewage sludge. The study was conducted in the municipality of Janaúba-MG. Treatments were arranged in a randomized block design, with four replicates, in a 2 x 5 factorial scheme, consisting of two different fertilizers: sewage sludge (SS) and mineral fertilizers (MF), and five pineapple varieties (Pérola, Vitória, Smooth Cayenne, MD-2, Fantastic IAC). Nitrogen was adopted as the base element to calculate the sewage sludge dose in the pineapple crop. Fertilization with sewage sludge increased the Zn and Cu contents in the soil and the Zn content in the leaves of the pineapple plants. Sewage sludge did not change the contents of As, Pb, Ba, Cu and Zn in the fruit, and Cr, Ni and Cd contents were not detected by the method used. Pineapple fruits did not show microbiological contamination above the limits established by the Brazilian legislation.

The estimation of pineapple total leaf area by simple, fast and non-destructive methods allow inferences related to carbon fixation estimative, biotic and abiotic damages and correlating positively with yield. The objective was to estimate D leaf area and total leaf area and of ‘Pérola’ pineapple plants from biometric measurements. For this purpose, 125 slips were selected and standardized by weight for planting in pots. Nine months after planting in a greenhouse, the plants were harvested to evaluate the total leaf area of the plant, D leaf area and D leaf length and width using a portable leaf area meter. Pearson correlation analysis was made and it was observed significative positive and strong correlation among the studied variables. Then, regression models were adjusted. It was observed that the D leaf area of ‘Pérola’ pineapple can be estimated from the length and width of this same leaf and the total leaf area can be estimated from the D leaf area.
