O artigo discute os conceitos de letramento e letramento literário por meio da atuação de dois personagens de Guimarães Rosa, Grivo e Riobaldo. Na segunda parte, traz a discussão para o campo da crítica e da teoria literárias, por meio de textos de Antonio Candido, Roland Barthes, Denis Bertrand e Todorov.

RESUMO:Dark Water é o título da tradução de um conto, -Floating Water‖, do livro originalmente publicado no Japão, Honogurai mizu no soko kara, de Koji Suzuki, que o diretor japonês Hideo Nakata transpôs para o cinema e o diretor brasileiro Walter Salles Jr fez a sua releitura. O objetivo deste texto é analisar o filme de Walter Salles para demonstrar como o mesmo resolveu os problemas de transcriação, atendendo ao mesmo tempo as funções comercial e artística e incorporando as marcas de sua trajetória estética. Nesse caso, destacam-se os tipos de relações entre a literatura e o cinema, a função metalingüística como geratriz da poética e um interessante diálogo entre gêneros. ABSTRACT:Dark Water is the title of the translation of a short story, -Floating Water‖, from the book Honogurai mizu no soko kara by Koji Suzuki, originally published in Japan, that the Japanese director Hideo Nakata adapted for the cinema and that was remade by the Brazilian director Walter Salles Jr. The objective of this study is to analyse Walter Salles' film to demonstrate how it resolved the problems of transcreation, whilst at the same time it fulfilled commercial and artistic functions and incorporated the traces of its aesthetic trajectory. In this case, attention is drawn to the types of relationship between literature and cinema, to the metalinguistic function as a generator of poetics and of an interesting dialogue between genres.
