Design management, both in the academic and the corporate world, is being perceived as a strategic element for organizations. However, the role of professional designers and their competencies in design management are little explored. Thus, the goal of this text was to emphasize how competencies are related and joined in the design management sphere, identifying possible interrelationships. A systematic literature review of applied and exploratory nature was made, mapping the state of the art about competencies in design management. Virtual databases were used for seeking work, based on the keywords "design management" and "competence". Through this study, we identified the current state of the art of the topic, as well as the understanding of design management related to individual, collective, and organizational competencies. Emerging concepts related to design management and competencies, such as learning,
Professionals who work at the patients' bedside should be involved in the development of strategies, in order to commit them to the organisational objectives. The consolidation of interpersonal relationships of nursing professionals can lead to improvements with medical professionals, with positive impacts on patient safety and efficiency.
Design management has occupied a privileged place in debates related to the field of design and innovation in fashion industry. The apparel industry, in particular, presents a dynamic character, requiring constant updates on raw materials, changes in colors and textures, innovations and new product launches to follow trends in this industry. So, this paper aims to systematize the process of product development, identifying activities and actors involved in the product development process and mapping the determinant moments for the design management occurrence in context analysis. The methodology used was a systematic literature review and a multiple case study. As results, players involved have been identified as well the product development process and the intervenient factors in design management of companies imbricated in the apparel industry. We also have identified determinant moments for the occurrence of design management, throughout the product development process.
Despite all quality management and integration literature prescriptions to implement strategies for a better organizational performance, healthcare organizations support a model that is inefficient, expensive, and unsustainable over time. This work aims to examine the interpersonal relationships in three large hospitals located in Southern Brazil and its relation with organizational efficiency. Through a qualitative and explanatory research, semi-structured interviews were applied to 32 professionals, in addition to a document analysis. The data analysis shows that integration occurs at the formal leadership level only in one of the organizations and does not involve the medical and operational professionals. Quality management seems not to be fully incorporated into care routines, and are related to efficiency losses. This scenario is probably related to the lack of integration among the professionals and the consolidation of trust, leadership, and communication.

This study aims to propose a theoretical framework based on Institutional Theory in order to implement clinical-academic nursing careers (CAC), since nurses who combine care work with research tend to share best clinical practices with their colleagues, nursing students and even with their teachers.Method: The literature on CAC careers, evidence-based practice (EBP), health errors, continuing education, communities of practice and Institutional Theory was examined.Theoretical foundation: As theoretical support, we adopted literature about CAC, evidence-based practice, errors in healthcare, continuing education, communities of practice and Institutional Theory. A theoretical framework was created with five steps. Results: By introducing the CAC, the use of evidence-based practice will generate cost reduction, increased quality of services provided and greater satisfaction for these professionals. Conclusions: This study has international relevance, as it can be applied in any country that wants quality gains in the assistance provided by hospitals as well cost reduction.
To propose a framework based on the VRIO causality nexus to generate efficiency gains in hospitals inserted in merger and acquisition processes.Design/ methodology/approach: Classical and contemporary academic studies on Resourced-Based View, leadership and Strategic Business Units and mergers and acquisitions have been critically reviewed and applied to support the rationale. Findings:The introduction of the concept of BUs enables the development of the Leadership construct and consequently the Organization attribute. By involving, empowering and granting decision-making autonomy to all those involved in the daily operational processes of an organization, the interruptions in processes, when they are no longer held by the individual but by the organization, are prevented once knowledge is shared. The result is the creation of Value, Rarity, and Imitability, affecting the performance and competitiveness of the organization even after the merger and acquisitions. Practical implications:As hospitals no longer depend on the knowledge of only a few individuals and especially in the health area, they can improve their efficiency after the concentration by replicating the business units during the expansion. Social implications:The efficiency gains obtained are directly related to the quality of the care provided to the society. Originality:The causality nexus by prioritizing the Organization attribute of the VRIO Model, enabling its application in organizations through the implementation of Business Units, avoids losses of efficiency in organizations involved in consolidation processes such as hospitals.
