Six major components of a mixture of the pyrolysis products of deoxyribonucleic acid have been analysed by combined low energy electron impact and collisional activation spectra. The method allowed the assignment of the structures of the different components in the complex mixture without prior separation.
Abstract-The high resolution field desorption m a s spectra of a number of glycosides are described. In al1 cases the spectra enabled molecular weights and elemental formulae to be established, and the presence of fragment ions due to cleavage of the sugar groups provides considerable assistance in the identification of sugar and aglycone
The derivatives of dopamine, 3-O-methyldopamlne, and 4-O-methyldopamine produced by reaction with 5-di-n-butylamlnonaphthalene-1-sulfonyl chloride (BANS-CI) were separated by thin-layer chromatography and identified by electron Impact and field desorption mass spectrometry. The base peaks In the electron impact spectra were formed by loss of C3H7 from the molecular Ion. In contrast, the field desorption spectra showed only the molecular Ions. The BANS derivatives
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
