The engaged scholarship has been widely viewed as academic service-learning and community service, which aim to link the classroom and community through courses with a transformative experiential education. It becomes an initiative to inculcate civic responsibility among students with the goal to produce responsible citizens and active participants in the community. This chapter will critically explore the main contribution of service learning to build civic responsibility. The literature review was conducted from referred books and journals on the topic of civic responsibility and service learning. As a core guideline to give a clear understanding and insightful view on the importance of the civic responsibility, this study could contribute to the significant insights towards different aspects of engaged scholarship and civic responsibility. Putting together awareness and goodwill from the community towards the group or organization should do with building civic engagement to get involved in social events to produce responsible citizens and active participants in the community.
The aim of this study was to obtain empirical evidence and clarity about the influence of the phenomenon of personality, motivation to career success, either partially or simultaneously based on self-leadership theory. In addition, to determine whether there is differences in personality, motivation to career success between men and women. The unit of analysis is a lecturer in the area of Cirebon region. The total samples are 120 people. The method used is descriptive and verification method. To test the model and hypotheses used regression analysis. The results showed that personality and motivation affects the career success. The Influential of personality and motivation of success is together toward career success. There was no difference in personality, motivation to career success among male and female in the college.
The advantage of competitive atmosphere in business has a significant role in helping to enhance productivity. It is necessary to empower competitive awareness with cooperative engagement to give clear understanding for core guideline and insightful view on promoting social entrepreneurship. This chapter attempts to explore the initiated engagement between cooperative and competitive concern paid attention in the particular way among the firms along with increasing popularity to achieve certain objectives like growing the business with entrepreneurship. The finding reveals that attracting growing amounts of cooperative and competitive alliance should be strengthened to gain the feedback and insights into performance value in social entrepreneurship where this is eventually integrated with the entrepreneurship in a way that underlies the value to run the potential business. This chapter is supposed to contribute significant insights into exploring the key role of strategies to give the beneficial feedback to perform continuous improvement in social entrepreneurship.
This study aims to test and determine whether competence and work motivation have an influence on employee performance. The research method used is the verification method with a quantitative approach. The sample used in this research is nonprobability sampling with saturated sampling. So in this study using all populations of 76 respondents. The data analysis technique used in this research is multiple linear regression analysis techniques and to measure the research variables, researchers use a Likert scale. The results of data analysis show that employee competence consisting of intellectual competence, emotional competence and social competence has no influence on the employee performance of PT. EGI. Meanwhile, the results of the data indicate that work motivation which consists of motivator factors and hygiene factors has a strong influence on the performance of the employees of PT. EGI. However, if further tested together the competency and work motivation variables above have a positive and significant effect on the performance of the employees of PT. EGI.
