<strong><strong></strong></strong><p>El presente estudio recoge y estudia los hábitos de lectura y su relación con los niveles de comprensión lectora de 165 estudiantes universitarios de la Especialidad de Lengua, Literatura, Psicología y Filosofía de la Escuela Profesional de Educación Secundaria, Facultad de Ciencias de la Educación de la Universidad Nacional del Altiplano durante el año 2014. Mediante la aplicación de un cuestionario para identificar los hábitos de lectura se encontró que el 47% de los estudiantes no poseen hábitos de lectura desarrollados ingresando en la categoría de “deficiente” con un promedio general de 7.8 en una escala de 0 a 40. Además se realizó una prueba para medir los niveles de lectura que poseen los estudiantes en el nivel literal, inferencial y crítico donde la media aritmética de las notas obtenidas en la pruebas aplicadas es de 9.11 puntos en una escala de 0 a 20; este resultado se traduce como un nivel bajo de comprensión lectora. Finalmente, tras el análisis de la correlación entre hábitos de lectura y comprensión lectora se encontró un coeficiente de Pearson general de 0.68, que indica que existe una correlación media alta considerable.</p>
