Resumen. Los enterramientos humanos en el Porce Medio, nordeste del departamento de Antioquia (Colombia), en el periodo denominado desarrollos regionales, son expresiones de la manera como los grupos humanos concebían la muerte. Asimismo, el ritual funerario que incluye la construccióny localización de la tumba en el paisaje es una expresión cultural que legitima la territorialidad de los grupos locales, basada en el hecho de que allí mismo habitan los antepasados.Abstract. Human burials in “El Porce Medio”, in the period called “regional developments” are expressions of the way human groups used to conceive death, but especially, the funeral ritual that includes the construction and location of the tomb in the landscape, it is a cultural expression that legitimizes the territoriality of the local groups, based on an ancient legacy, because in such territory is where their ancestors inhabit.
