O objetivo do artigo foi analisar as condições de urbanização e de saneamento na cidade de Belém do Pará diante do cenário da pandemia pela COVID-19. A partir de indicadores populacionais, habitacionais e de saneamento extraídos da Pesquisa Nacional por Amostra de Domicílios Contínua, observou-se que: (i) na situação habitacional, o valor médio de moradores por domicílios (2,9) é inferior ao do país, mas que existe grande possibilidade desse números ser maior em outras áreas de ocupação da cidade, podendo dificultar medidas de distanciamento social; (ii) que 74,4% dos domicílios em Belém tem proprietários definidos, mas cuja porcentagem restante necessita, emergencialmente, da ampliação de programas assistenciais de acesso à moradia digna; e (iii), quanto ao saneamento, embora mais de 90% dos domicílios possua água canalizada, existem aqueles cuja fonte de água pode ser considerada insegura e, ainda, onde a disponibilidade não é diária, o que dificulta ações de higiene pessoal e doméstica. Conclui-se, como reflexão central, a necessidade de integração das políticas de urbanização, habitação e saneamento como ferramentas do poder público nas ações de enfrentamento ao novo coronavírus e pandemias futuras.Palavras-Chave: Belém. Objetivou-se analisar a importância da universalização do abastecimento de água para o enfretamento da COVID-19, no estado do Pará e suas Regiões de Integração (RI). Coletaram-se dados no “Painel Saneamento Brasil”, do Instituto Trata Brasil, e site da Secretaria de Saúde do Pará, no boletim de 20 de maio. Os indicadores foram: percentual da população com acesso à água potável encanada; percentual de perdas ao longo da distribuição; e o número de casos confirmados, óbitos e taxa de letalidade pela COVID-19 no Pará. Verificou-se que: (i) nove RI paraenses tiveram mais de 500 casos, com três delas e o Estado superando a taxa de letalidade da América do Sul; (ii) que dos municípios com informação em água, existe um baixíssimo percentual de atendimento total, com valores bem inferiores ao do Brasil; que o índice estadual de perdas é quase 20% superior ao do país; e (iii) que embora o direito à água e saneamento sejam importantes para combater a COVID-19, lavar as mãos nem sempre é possível, pois também depende da disponibilidade de água nos domicílios. Portanto, a garantia plena desses direitos é um desafio de assegurar saúde pública e, por conseguinte, do mínimo existencial para a vida. Palavras-Chave: Saneamento. COVID-19. Pará. Direitos Humanos.
sobre Saneamento. Chegou-se à uma amostra de 18 municípios, 3 em cada mesorregião do Pará, analisando-se àquele com o maior número de variáveis significativas (valores de r ≥ 0,6). Constatou-se pela Correlação as variáveis "População" e "PIB" como as mais correlacionadas com as Internações por DRSAI. Ademais, sob a ótica da Avaliação de Políticas, a universalização do saneamento avançou lentamente nestes municípios e a ESF contribuiu para a ampliação dos serviços de prevenção e atendimento à população. Portanto, conhecer a situação sanitária e de saúde a nível de município é importante pilar de gestão voltada para resultados, pois ela é matéria-prima para a tomada de decisão, maior transparência nas ações de governo e melhor uso dos recursos públicos.
