The activity of the socio-economic society can be seen in the daily activities on the environment where the people live, especially people who live in the border area. The village Aji Yellow into the study site is located in Kabupaten Nunukan or commonly called the Island of Sebatik. People in Sebatik Island imposed a two currencies in the region, namely currency ringgit and indonesian rupiah. The purpose of this study untukmenjelaskan the value and meaning of the ringgit and the indonesian rupiah in the view of the Village community Aji Yellow;type-type of commodity goods traded; the practice of buying and selling transactions using the ringgit and the indonesian rupiah in the community of the Village Aji Yellow. The study used a qualitative method through interviews and participant observation. The results of the research show the value and meaning of the orientation of currency applied by the community in the Village of Aji Yellow which includes: historical aspects, ease of access, commodity, practical, security. Goods that becomes a commodity trading almost the entire starting from primary needs to tertiary. The value of the ringgit and the indonesian rupiah in the view of society is the result of consensus that can be beneficial in the social and cultural environment on the border of the two countries, Indonesia and Malaysia.
Matompang Arajang ceremony is a traditional ceremony that is still passed down through generations and is still maintained until now by bugis bone people. Matompang Arajang is a ritual of cleaning bone royal heirlooms. Where the ceremony has a very important ritual that is Sere Bissu. So far, previous studies have not reached the level of finding the symbolic meaning of the Matompang Arajang ceremony. This article aims to describe the process or stages in the Matompang Arajang ceremony as well as explain the symbolic meaning of Sere Bissu in the Matompang Arajangceremony. The method used is descriptive-qualitative method with ethnographic approach. Data collection techniques in the form of observations, interviews and documentation. Data analysis is done with three stages, namely data restatement, data description and data interpretation. These three stages become the basis for drawing conclusions. Using anthropological theory, the author explains the culture and meaning used in the Sere Bissu ritual. The implementation of matompang arajang ceremony includes malekke toja, mapaota, memmang to rilangi, matompang and massossoro arajang. Sere Bissu ritual in mattompang arajang ceremony has symbolic meaning as a form of sacred communication to God as well as to the spirits of Bugis Bone ancestors who they believe still exist around their lives.
Tulisan ini mendeskripsikan tentang falsafah hidup dan sistem nilai budaya masyarakat Bugis pada PT Amanah Finance Makassar.Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang menjelaskan falsafah hidup masyarakat bugis yang terintegrasi pada budaya organisasi perusahaan. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara mendalam dan studi kepustakaan untuk menemukan data tertulis terkait tema penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa falsafah hidup masyarakat Bugis seperti, “mappasona ri dewwata sewwae, resopa temmangingi na malomo naletei pemmase dewatae, dan sipatuo sipatokkong” yang diwujudkan dalam filosopi perusahaan yang disebut dengan Jalan Kalla menjadi nilai dasar dan acuan dalam beraktivitas karyawan maupun level manajemen perusahaan. Jalan Kalla tersebut menjadi pola dasar dalam merumuskan kebijakan dan strategi bisnis perusahaan dalam rangka melanjutkan daur hidupnya.
This paper is a description of daily activities in private companies related to the social relations in workplace between employee, management, as well as consumer. Dyadic social relationship is built based on the construction of agreement between individuals in that organization. The interaction which happened in the construction of agreement caused social relations that occur in certain period. The quality of social relations depends on how is the content of that agreement, which is certainly guided by values and norms that had been agreed. Therefore, agreement that established sustainably in dyadic social relationships caused a clique. This clique manifested in agreement, a similarity in thought and feeling in the activities either in the workplace or outside. Moreover, there are other parts in organization interactions such as an act of talk about the negative things of others, which make that people feel disturbed. The gossip could be in a negative labeling form which is given to an individual or group that caused a disharmony in social relations. The methods of collecting data are observation, in-depth interview, literature study and documents. The research results show that clique and gossip in a company workplace are closely related to the harmony and disharmony of workplace, also contribute in the performances of employee in particular and company in general.
