The dramatic effects of the discipline of Business Management on employees have brought leadership into sharp focus; the concept of Spiritual Leadership has recently begun to be included in the scope of the studies on positive leadership and emotional leadership, and probably because Organizational Cynicism, which results from the stresses and strains brought about by globalization, is regarded as an organizational pathological disorder, leadership has become a concept through which the discipline of Business Management is seeking a remedy. Based on these, the aim of this study is to support the tautology with an emic approach that spiritual leadership, which can be favoured by employees who are in search of some meaning in the workplace has inevitably a positive effect on organizational cynicism and emotional intelligence has a mediating effect on the relationship between spiritual leadership and cynicism within the Turkish culture. Stating the negative relationship between spiritual leadership and organizational cynicism and to some extend it may be overcome by emotional intelligence may contribute to leadership.
The weariness of competitive business environment has made it one of the hot topics of recent business management literature to find ways to escape from the intense Red Ocean by creating a Blue Ocean where there is no competition. Rene and Mauborgne's Blue Ocean Strategy (2004) provides a reasonable solution for this issue. Blue Ocean Strategy studies demonstrate that every blue ocean will eventually turn red due to fast entries into the market and the literature leaves a gap in understanding how blue ocean could be turned into blue again after it becomes red. This study addresses this void specifically by exploring the practices of a room escape organization of a newborn entertainment sector showing how they could manage to create their second blue ocean after experiencing their blue ocean turning into red. It is aimed at contributing to Blue Ocean Strategy with a case study in which the process of creating a blue ocean is traced; its immediate turning into red and achieving to become blue again is analysed. This study illustrates the ease of application of Blue Ocean Strategy in practice with the case study of a room escape game organisation. This study aims to generate insights for future research for managers, academics, innovators, entrepreneurs and policy makers who are interested in creating their sustainable blue ocean with innovative moves by presenting a solid case analysis.
Aim: Generations can be defined as age groups influenced by political, cultural and other variables between periods. However, it is clear that there is not only age difference in the single detail that separates the generations from each other. It has been pointed out in literature that there are profound differences between generations in all organisational aspects. Organisational silence/voice, an organisational behaviour could differ in different generations. Leadership studies should keep up with the expectations of new coing generations. In this respect, the aim of this study is to evaluate the level of silence/voice within the organization on the basis of generations.Method: 30-item Organisational Silence Scale was used with convenience sampling method on a research set of fuel oil workers. The sample of the study consisted of 133 employees from 10 stations of a fuel distibution company in Istanbul.Findings: It was demonstrated that the general organisational silence level of Generation X is higher that Generation Y's.
Results:The utomost conntribution of this study is to give insights for managers in order to create a proper organisational climate considering the characteristics of Generation X and generation Y.
