To survive in highly competitive business environment organizations are focusing on capitalizing its human recourses. These resources are very difficult to imitate and combination with other resources also help to gain edge over competitors. The objective of our study is to investigate relationship of two most important perceptions of training with affective commitment. These perceptions of training include perceived availability of training and perceived supervisor support for training. Later on we investigate relationship of affective commitment with employee turnover intentions. For this purpose questionnaire were considered as a tool to get responses from telecom and banking sector of Pakistan. Total 150 questionnaires were distributed and 123 useful questionnaires were received at a response rate of 82%. Statistical tools that used to analyze the relationships were Pearson moment quotient and linear regression. The result shows significant positive association of both training perceptions with affective commitment. The finding also shows significant negative association of affective commitment with employee turnover intention. This study helps managers to understand training-attitude-organizational performance relationship.
Gig work is a type of contingent work which has increased markedly in recent times, and is characterised by uncertainty, unpredictability, and instability of both schedules and income earned.Gig workers are also likely to work for multiple platforms and/or employers. These work characteristics mean that performing gig work is associated with higher rates of stress than the general population 1) . However, it is not currently known which strategies gig workers use to cope with this stressincluding which strategies are likely to be effective. The aim of this study was to understand the relationship between coping strategies, number of employers and stress in gig workers. An online survey was completed by 49 gig workers. Validated questionnaires were administered to measure coping strategies (Brief COPE) and stress (Perceived Stress Scale-14).Approach coping strategies (active, planning, and social support) were associated with reduced stress (p<0.05), whereas the avoidant coping strategy of self-blame was associated with increased stress (p<0.05). No differences in stress were seen between gig workers with one employer and those with multiple employers. Findings suggest that some coping strategies may lower stress in gig workers, though long-term outcomes should be considered in future research.
Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of intradermal tranexamic acid in melasma. Stduy Design: Cross-Sectional study. Setting: Out-patient Department of Dermatology at Dow University of Health Sciences. Period: January 2018 to June 2018. Material & Methods: Enrolling 73 patients the research was done on patients with resistant melasma. For this 0.2 ml tranexamic acid diluted in 0.8 ml normal saline was injected intradermally into the melasma lesion at 1 cm distance at every 2 weeks for 4 months and results were analysed by using the modified Melasma Area and Severity Index (MASI) at their first visit and then monthly with strict sun protection. A total of 73 patients were included in this study with age ranging from 22 years to 47 years. All of them had resistant melasma and had not taken any treatment for the last six months. Results: Out of 73 patient 10 (13.7%) patients had poor response, 48 (65.8%) patients had fair response, 14 (19.1%) patients had good responses and only 1 (1.4%) had excellent response. No significant side effects were observed. Out of 73 patients, 63 patients were satisfied with the treatment. Only 2 patients complained of redness over the affected area which subsided within a week without any intervention, no other side effects were noted. Conclusion: Intralesonal tranexamic acid is safe, effective and an affordable option in resistant melasma.
