To survive in highly competitive business environment organizations are focusing on capitalizing its human recourses. These resources are very difficult to imitate and combination with other resources also help to gain edge over competitors. The objective of our study is to investigate relationship of two most important perceptions of training with affective commitment. These perceptions of training include perceived availability of training and perceived supervisor support for training. Later on we investigate relationship of affective commitment with employee turnover intentions. For this purpose questionnaire were considered as a tool to get responses from telecom and banking sector of Pakistan. Total 150 questionnaires were distributed and 123 useful questionnaires were received at a response rate of 82%. Statistical tools that used to analyze the relationships were Pearson moment quotient and linear regression. The result shows significant positive association of both training perceptions with affective commitment. The finding also shows significant negative association of affective commitment with employee turnover intention. This study helps managers to understand training-attitude-organizational performance relationship.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to explore the mediating effect of organizational cynicism between the relationship of perception of ethical climate and turnover intention among nurses working in public sector hospitals. Design/methodology/approach A quantitative approach was utilized and 870 questionnaires were distributed to collect data from nursing staff working in Punjab region of Pakistan by using non-probability multistage sampling technique. A total of 711 questionnaires were returned out of which 668 questionnaires were scrutinized. Additionally, confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling were applied to analyze the data. Findings The results revealed a full mediating effect of organizational cynicism between the relationship of perception of ethical climate and turnover intention. Research limitations/implications The current study has adopted a multistage non-probability sampling technique to collect data because the management of hospitals restricted researcher access to personal information about the nurses. Therefore, at the first stage, the researcher used convenience sampling and at the second stage, the researcher utilized quota sampling to collect the data. Moreover, the findings of the current study are based on cross-sectional data because of the limited time and resources. Practical implications The current study fosters the ongoing debate in organizational studies related to cynicism and it is noteworthy for the nursing managers to understand the significant factors which directly or indirectly affect the nursing attitude. Originality/value The current study explored the mediating role of organizational cynicism between perception of ethical climate and turnover intention in nursing profession to fill the research gap.

Customers’ trust is an inevitable asset for organizations. The long-term relationship of customer-organization depends upon the presence of customers’ trust on the organization. The significance of this phenomenon in services industry becomes even more critical where organizations have to know individual as well as contextual factors that influence on customers’ trust. This study tested the impact of different dimensions of perceived service quality (reliability, assurance, responsiveness, empathy and tangibility) on customers’ trust. 220 customers from Insurance sector of Pakistan were selected to form the sampling frame. Explanatory factor analysis, correlation and hierarchical multiple regression analyses were used to test proposed hypotheses. The results indicate   positive relationship between different dimensions of service quality and customers’ trust. This study has several insights and valuable implications for the researchers and policy makers. First, deliberate efforts are needed on the part of policy makers in Insurance companies to nurture a climate that is conducive to build long-term customer’s trust to retain and expand extent of customers. In particular, front line officers must be trained to harmonize customers’ need with swift and rational solutions.

Purpose: This empirical study investigates the anomalous behaviour and volatility in stock return of PSX-100 index of Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX). Design/Methodology/Approach: The data is taken from January, 2006 to December, 2018 to detect variability and predictability of stock returns. ARCH and GARCH models are applied to check the volatility in stock returns using dummy variable. Findings: It is found that there exists positive and significant September effect in Pakistani equity market. The returns are high in the month of September than other months. The constant returns do not exist during the whole year so the efficient market hypothesis contradicts. Implications/Originality/Value: The Efficient Market Hypothesis is question mark due to volatility for mispricing the securities. The mispricing may have implications for undervalue or overvalue the securities and overall economic activity of equity – stock returns.
