O presente artigo é fruto do projeto de pesquisa desenvolvido em 2019 denominado “Práticas artísticas e musicais com crianças e jovens com deficiência: Inclusão ou interação? ” Em Ituiutaba-MG. O objetivo foi identificar se práticas artísticas propiciam a interação entre crianças e jovens com e sem deficiência, no que se refere aos processos de inclusão, da escola de educação básica e da APAE, além de reconhecer os processos educativos obtidos para o desenvolvimento dos participantes. A estratégia metodológica ocorreu a partir dos encontros com os participantes do projeto com posterior análise nomotética que possibilitou a coleta de dados para este artigo. Como referência adotamos os princípios pedagógicos de Paulo Freire (2005), além dos conceitos sobre desenvolvimento humano de Vygotsky (1998, 1999, 2000) e Papalia e Feldman (2013). Esperamos que esse trabalho possibilite reflexões sobre a realização de práticas artísticas, dando maior visibilidade aos processos de inclusão decorrentes de tais práticas, de modo a contribuir com a educação inclusiva no Brasil, além de se constituir como parte integrante do processo de formação de estudantes em nível de graduação.
