The purpose of this research is to describe the effectiveness of STEM on the physics concepts understanding seen from gender differences. The research method used is a type of quasi-experimental design with 2x2 factorial design and saturated sampling technique. The data collecting technique used a tested method to see the results of students' concept understanding. Hypothesis testing was done using two-way ANOVA 2 x 2 factorial designs. The results of the study are: (1) there are differences in STEM and conventional learning on concepts understanding and the use of STEM learning is more effective than the conventional one; (2) there are differences in the results of understanding the concept between male and female students where male students are higher than female students; and, (3) there is no interaction between learning and gender towards concepts understanding. The research recommends designing the STEM-integrated ESciT learning to be relevant with the indicator measurements and to manage the learning effectively to obtain optimum learning outcome.
Educating students from an early age to have ecological awareness and not to damage the earth is one alternative to reduce global warming. The purpose of this study is to find things that need to be developed in environmentally-friendly education as a solution to global warming. The type of this research model is a descriptive qualitative study. The research was conducted at Sekolah Alam Lampung, Indonesia. Based on observations and interviews, it has been found that the school has implemented a strict learning and disciplinary curriculum. The output is expected for the students to self-managing waste and separating organic and non-organic waste bins that have been provided. The non-organic and recycled organic waste could be made into compost. They also plant and care for vegetables and trees in the green laboratory provided. The activity of the Sekolah Alam Lampung is an alternative solution to the environmental crisis regarding global warming, which is now increasingly severe and contributes conceptually to overcome the global warming, which has been a global issue.
Terpenuhinya sarana dan prasarana pada lembaga taman penitipan anak (TPA) yang memadai dan berkualitas berpengaruh pada tumbuh kembang anak usia dini. Fokus penelitian ini mengkaji proses manajemen sarana dan prasarana yang meliputi perencanaan (planning), pengoranisasian (organizing), pelaksanaan (actuating) dan pengawasan (controlling) (POAC) di TPA Pinggungan Sebuai dan TPA Cut Muthia. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain penelitian studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dengan cara reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan sedangkan pengecekkan keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi. Hasil analisis terkait kegiatan manajemen POAC di TPA Pinggungan Sebuai dan TPA Cut Muthia dilakukan dengan mengikuti setiap prosedur manajemen POAC dan secara umum sudah dilaksanakan dengan baik. Oleh karena itu, dengan meningkatkan kembali manajemen sarana dan prasarana melalui kegiatan manajemen yang tepat pada taman penitipan anak menjadi salah satu sumber daya yang penting dalam menunjang proses tumbuh kembang anak usia dini.
Concepts understanding is the key for students to have quality knowledge. A good concepts understanding will affect the achievement of other abilities such as the ability to think critically and creatively. This study aims to see the application of two strategies, namely RQA (Reading-Questioning-Answering) and TTW (Think-Talk-Write) in improving students' concepts understanding. The research method used is posttest only control group design with a total sample of 60 students divided into two experimental classes. The treatment for the first experimental class was the RQA strategy while the treatment for the second experimental class was the TTW strategy. After the treatments, the students were given 20 questions about concepts understanding motion and force material. Based on the results of testing and data analysis, it is found that there are differences in the achievement of students' conceptual understanding between RQA strategy and TTW strategy. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the three steps in the TTW strategy have a better impact on the seven aspects of conceptual understanding compared to the RQA strategy. This study provides recommendation for teachers to correctly choose learning strategies according to the character of the material to be taught.
Buku teks merupakan bahan ajar yang menjadi unsur utama dalam berlangsungnya suatu pebelajaran. Penelitian dan pengembangan ini didasari akan adanaya kesenjangan penyampaian materi dalam pembelajaran bahasa Arab. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengembangakan bahan ajar buku teks berbasis audio visual untuk siswa kelas X SMK yang dikemas secara menarik, praktis dan efektif. Model pengembangan pada penelitian ini mengacu pada model pengembangan Borg and Gall. Subjek uji coba produk penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Kalirejo. Hasil penelitian ini menjelaskan bahwa validator ahli desain dan media memberikan presentase terhadap desain bahan ajar buku teks pada aspek tampilan dengan skor 98,43% (sangat layak); aspek Penggunaan diperoleh skor 97,91% (sangat layak); dan aspek Pemanfaatan diperoleh skor 91,66 % (sangat layak), sedangakn dari validator ahli materi dan bahasa untuk aspek Pendahuluan diperoleh skor 100% (sangat layak); aspek Isi diperoleh skor 97,5% (sangat layak); aspek Pembelajaran diperoleh skor 95,83% (sangat layak); dan aspek Tugas/Latihan diperoleh skor 92,5 (sangat layak); serta hasil posttest peserta didik diperoleh rerata skor keseluruhan dari ketiga aspek sebesar 94,17% (sangat layak).
