RESUMO:Promover o melhor potencial para o desenvolvimento infantil contribui na construção de sociedades mais saudáveis e equitativas. Objetivou-se divulgar uma experiência de formação de profissionais com ênfase no desenvolvimento infantil à luz da Promoção da Saúde. Tratou-se de um estudo de caso baseado na análise de documentos de capacitações realizadas em cinco municípios paulistas. Foram descritas oito áreas prioritárias relacionadas ao pré-natal, parto, puerpério, puericultura, famílias grávidas, creches, grupos de pais e espaços lúdicos. Conclui-se que os conteúdos relacionados ao Desenvolvimento Infantil constituem eixo transversal na formação de diferentes profissionais e promovem o cuidado ampliado da criança e de sua família.

This study aims to share a training experience that focuses on child development in light of health promotion. It consists in a study case based on documental analysis related to this training process in five municipalities in Sao Paulo. We have described eight main areas: antenatal care, delivery care, puerperium, child care, pregnant families, daycare, parental guidance and playful places. We concluded that these topics are a common thread in the training to promote an amplified care for children and their families.
