São Paulo, Brasil. yolanda@eerp.usp.br RESUMO: O dimensionamento de recursos humanos em enfermagem tem sido ampla e intensamente discutido nos vários âmbitos que envolvem a complexidade do atendimento às necessidades de saúde da população. O objetivo do estudo é dimensionar a enfermagem de um hospital universitário público do Paraná, segundo metodologia proposta pela Rede de Observatórios de Recursos Humanos em Saúde do Brasil. Mediante aplicação da metodologia foi possível dimensionar o quadro de pessoal ideal e comparar com o real, contemplando aspectos de estrutura, processo e especificidades da clientela. Constata-se um déficit de 118 enfermeiros e 204 funcionários de enfermagem de nível médio em relação ao ideal. Espera-se que o presente estudo possa promover discussões entre os enfermeiros do serviço no sentido de aproximá-los do tema e das variáveis que envolvem o dimensionamento de pessoal, pois, atuando diretamente na assistência, possuem condições de avaliar continuamente os recursos disponíveis, subsidiando os estudos desta natureza. The objective of this study is to dimension the nursing staff at a Brazilian public university hospital in Paraná according to the methodology proposed by the Brazilian Human Health Resources Observatory Network. In doing so, it has been possible to dimension an ideal staff and compare it with the actual one, contemplating aspects such as structure, process, and client needs. The comparison shows a deficit of 118 nurses and 204 nursing technicians. We hope that the present study may further future discussion among nurses in order to approximate them to the issue and the variables involved in staff-sizing, for if they directly act in providing care, they are in the right position to continuously assess the available resources and subsidize studies of this nature. The object of the study is the management of medical-hospital supplies. This is an area that requires the nurse to have specific knowledge and which has currently sparked discussions among experts on the subject. Aim: To characterize the production of knowledge on the management of medical-hospital material conducted by nurses. Method: A retrospective, descriptive method that followed the steps of an integrative review. For the research the Lilacs, Medline and Google scholardatabases were used. Results: We found 104 studies, of which ten were selected. The analysis of the publications showed that the management of material has been discussed in the context of educational practices, control of costs and materials, as a working tool, and from the perspective of the nurse in material management. Discussion: It is necessary to incorporate the theme in the working process of nurses, providing critical thinking in relation to management. Conclusion: The expansion of scientific production and greater interest of nurses in this area are essential.
ABSTRACT:The aim of this study was to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of needle and catheter over needle with active protection safety devices in the hospital context. A cross-sectional and retrospective study was undertaken at a public university hospital in Southern Brazil. The population was composed of consumption and material cost worksheets and 53 records of workers and students who suffered perforating accidents that occurred before and after the implementation of the safety devices, in the periods named A: June/2010 till June/2011 and B: June/2012 till June/2013. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. There was a 30% increase in accidents between period A and period B. The cost went from 44.769,93 to 139.558,08 American dollars. Educational strategies are recommended to enhance the cost-effectiveness of safety devices in healthcare organizations. DESCRIPTORS:Nursing. Occupational health. Hospital costs. CUSTO-EFETIVIDADE DE AGULHAS E CATETERES SOBRE COSTO-EFECTIVIDAD DE AGUJAS Y CATÉTERES CON RELACIÓN A LAS AGUJAS CON DISPOSITIVOS DE PROTECCIÓN ACTIVA EN EL CONTEXTO HOSPITALARIORESUMEN: El estudio buscó evaluar el costo-efectividad de agujas y de catéteres con relación a las agujas con dispositivos de seguridad con protección activa en el contexto hospitalario. Es una pesquisa cuantitativa, transversal y retrospectiva, realizada en un hospital universitario público del sur de Brasil. La población estaba compuesta por plantillas de consumo y de costo, y con 53 expedientes de trabajadores y alumnos que sufrieron accidentes perforantes, ocurridos antes y después de la implantación de los dispositivos, durante los periodos A: de junio/2010 a junio/2011 y B: de junio/2012 a junio/2013. Se analizaron los datos mediante estadística descriptiva. Los accidentes aumentaron el 30% entre el periodo A y el B. El costo pasó de 44.769,93 para 139.558,08 dólares americanos. Así, no hubo más costo-efectividad, se recomienda que las organizaciones de la salud utilicen estrategias para potencializar el costo-efectividad de los dispositivos de seguridad.
