The aim of this systematic review is to collect and summarize the benefits of Pilates in the elderly population (>60 years old), within the current scientific production, assessing its contribution to Healthy Ageing (HA). We used PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analysis) to select, collect, and analyse this thematic. The methodological procedures were registered in the PROSPERO database. The main results of the studies analysed (n = 30) point to significant differences between the intervention and the control groups in dynamic balance, strength, mobility, functional capacity, risk of falling reduction, and mental and psychological health. Thus, the results showed that Pilates may be beneficial for the health of the elderly. The meta-analysis found statistical differences between means on the dynamic balance (mean difference (MD) = −0.0, 95% CI [−0.71, −0.50]; I2: 0%) and the aerobic capacity and aerobic resistance [(MD) = 38.29, 95% CI [6.82, 69.77]; I2: 0%). Thus, it is concluded that the efficacy of Pilates has been shown in various areas of HA and has proven to be affordable and safe for the majority of people, using just a mat on the floor. Future studies should focus on the analysis of the relationship between the cost and the benefit of a Pilates intervention in the elderly population, to better understand how health costs can be minimized and to contribute to a multidisciplinary and generalized HA. Pilates has practical application for the clinicians, therapists, and health professionals that work with the elderly population.

Objetivo: analisar a percepção de adolescentes de uma escola pública de Petrolina-PE sobre imunização. Métodos: estudo qualitativo, exploratório e descritivo, desenvolvido em uma escola estadual, por se tratar de uma referência no ensino médio público de Petrolina. Os sujeitos foram 14 adolescentes matriculados nessa escola. Para coleta de dados, utilizou-se a entrevista semiestruturada e a observação simples com foco no cartão de vacina dos adolescentes, à luz da análise de conteúdo de Bardin. Apenas três adolescentes apresentaram o cartão. Resultados: os adolescentes eram de ambos os sexos, com idade que variou entre 14 e 17 anos. Demonstraram conhecer a finalidade e a importância da imunização, embora tenham apresentado déficit de conhecimento em relação à indicação das vacinas. Quanto ao estado vacinal, a maioria referiu estar com o esquema completo, entretanto, após a observação de alguns cartões de vacina, notou-se que faltavam vacinas como a hepatite B. Conclusões: fazem-se necessárias estratégias de educação em saúde para melhor percepção dos adolescentes quanto à importância das vacinas nesse ciclo da vida. Nesse contexto, a escola se estabelece como lugar privilegiado para o desenvolvimento dessas estratégias, visando à promoção da saúde e à prevenção de doenças. Palavras-chave: Saúde do Adolescente; Saúde Pública; Imunização. ABSTR ACT Objective: to analyze the perception of adolescents from a public school in Petrolina-PE on immunization. Methods: a qualitative, exploratory and descriptive study, developed at a state school, as it is a reference for the public high school in Petrolina. The subjects were 14 adolescents enrolled in this school. For data collection it was used a semi-structured interview and simple observation focused on the adolescents vaccine cards, based on the of Bardin's content analysis. Only 03 adolescents had the card. Results: the adolescents were of both sexes, with ages ranging from 14 to 17 years old. They knew about the purpose and importance of immunization, although they showed a lack of knowledge regarding vaccine indications. As for the vaccination status, the majority reported having complete immunization schedule, however, after observing some immunization cards, it was noticed that vaccines, such as hepatitis B, were missing. Conclusions: strategies in health education are necessary for a better perception of the adolescents regarding the importance of vaccines in this cycle of life. In this context, the school stands as a privileged place for developing these strategies, aiming for health promotion and disease prevention.

Objetivo: IDENTIFICAR FATORES DE RISCO EXTRÍNSECOS QUE PREDISPÕEM A OCORRÊNCIA DE QUEDAS DE IDOSOS EM AMBIENTE DOMICILIAR. Método: FORAM AVALIADAS 95 RESIDÊNCIAS QUANTO À PRESENÇA DE FATORES DE RISCO, UTILIZANDO-SE ENTREVISTA ESTRUTURADA. Resultados: DAS 95 RESIDÊNCIAS AVALIADAS APENAS 7,4% (7) NÃO APRESENTARAM INADEQUAÇÕES DE ACORDO COM OS ITENS AVALIADOS. OBSERVOU-SE QUE AS INADEQUAÇÕES ENVOLVENDO TAPETES E BATENTES FORAM AS MAIS PREVALENTES, REPRESENTANDO EM CONJUNTO CERCA DE 40% DOS PROBLEMAS IDENTIFICADOS NA PESQUISA. OUTROS PROBLEMAS RELEVANTES FORAM RELATIVOS À AUSÊNCIA DE BARRAS DE APOIO EM LOCAIS QUE REQUERIAM O SEU USO, INTERRUPTORES DISPOSTOS EM LOCAIS DE DIFÍCIL ACESSO E LONGE DA ENTRADA DOS CÔMODOS DO DOMICÍLIO, PISOS COM ALTERAÇÕES NO SEU RELEVO, ILUMINAÇÃO INSUFICIENTE NOS AMBIENTES E MÓVEIS OBSTRUINDO A PASSAGEM DO IDOSO. Conclusão: OS FATORES DE RISCO PARA QUEDAS ESTIVERAM PRESENTES NA MAIORIA DAS RESIDÊNCIAS, SENDO QUE BOA PARTE DESTES SÃO FATORES PREVENÍVEIS.

Resumo: O estudo teve como objetivo descrever a experiência da Educação Permanente em Saúde vivenciada pelos profissionais de saúde de um serviço pré-hospitalar móvel de urgência. Estudo descritivo, de natureza qualitativa, desenvolvido com 36 profissionais do SAMU-192 de Juazeiro-BA. Os dados foram obtidos mediante entrevista semi-estruturada, e analisados por meio da análise de conteúdo. O núcleo de educação do serviço não se encontra implantado e a sobrecarga de trabalho foi apontada como um desafio para a consolidação. The aim of this review was to collect and systematize results of studies from the last 5 years concerning the influence of the Pilates method (PM) on functional body composition (FBC). Methods: The criteria of Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) were used in this review. We conducted research in three scientific databases: (i) Web of Science Core Collection, (ii) SCOPUS, and (iii) search directory of the library catalog of the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education of the University of Coimbra—EBSCO Discovery Services. We found 334 articles, covering the period between 1 January 2017 and 31 December 2021. After the selection process, we found 33 eligible articles. Results: The main results seem to point to a tendency to get a better body weight and body fat percentage (BFP), hip circumference (HC), waist, and skinfolds from the chest, abdomen, triceps, and supra-iliac in mostly female samples. Available evidence indicates that, in body composition (BC) and FBC, Pilates practice tends to be effective in reducing obesity as a multifactorial condition. Conclusions: It is concluded that there is a marked trend in the benefits of Pilates in FBC, which is in line with other systematic reviews at the BC level (which includes body weight (BW) and body mass index (BMI)) and in the reduction of the percentage of fat mass (FM). It is also concluded that there is a vast lack of studies on the male population, preventing further scientific development in this area. The limitations of this systematic review can be overcome with studies that bring together multidisciplinary aspects of FBC, better designed and methodologically more robust, which will allow more reliable analyses for the implementation of the Pilates method in terms of FBC. In addition, further studies with a male sample or mixed samples (men vs. women) could confirm the trend of no gender differences in the benefits of Pilates practice.

ABSTRACT:The aim of this study was to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of needle and catheter over needle with active protection safety devices in the hospital context. A cross-sectional and retrospective study was undertaken at a public university hospital in Southern Brazil. The population was composed of consumption and material cost worksheets and 53 records of workers and students who suffered perforating accidents that occurred before and after the implementation of the safety devices, in the periods named A: June/2010 till June/2011 and B: June/2012 till June/2013. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. There was a 30% increase in accidents between period A and period B. The cost went from 44.769,93 to 139.558,08 American dollars. Educational strategies are recommended to enhance the cost-effectiveness of safety devices in healthcare organizations. DESCRIPTORS:Nursing. Occupational health. Hospital costs. CUSTO-EFETIVIDADE DE AGULHAS E CATETERES SOBRE COSTO-EFECTIVIDAD DE AGUJAS Y CATÉTERES CON RELACIÓN A LAS AGUJAS CON DISPOSITIVOS DE PROTECCIÓN ACTIVA EN EL CONTEXTO HOSPITALARIORESUMEN: El estudio buscó evaluar el costo-efectividad de agujas y de catéteres con relación a las agujas con dispositivos de seguridad con protección activa en el contexto hospitalario. Es una pesquisa cuantitativa, transversal y retrospectiva, realizada en un hospital universitario público del sur de Brasil. La población estaba compuesta por plantillas de consumo y de costo, y con 53 expedientes de trabajadores y alumnos que sufrieron accidentes perforantes, ocurridos antes y después de la implantación de los dispositivos, durante los periodos A: de junio/2010 a junio/2011 y B: de junio/2012 a junio/2013. Se analizaron los datos mediante estadística descriptiva. Los accidentes aumentaron el 30% entre el periodo A y el B. El costo pasó de 44.769,93 para 139.558,08 dólares americanos. Así, no hubo más costo-efectividad, se recomienda que las organizaciones de la salud utilicen estrategias para potencializar el costo-efectividad de los dispositivos de seguridad. Objetivo: compreender o significado do puerpério entreadolescentes de uma Unidade de Saúde da Família em Juazeiro-BA. Metododologia: foi uma pesquisa de abordagem qualitativa,exploratória e descritiva, desenvolvida com puérperas-adolescentes acompanhadas em uma Unidade Básica de Saúde na cidadede Juazeiro-BA. Foram 10 participantes com idade entre 14 a 19 anos. Utilizou-se entrevistas semi-estruturadas, através de visitasdomiciliares acompanhadas por Agente Comunitário de Saúde e analisadas de acordo com a análise temática de conteúdo. Apesquisa foi aprovada pelo Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa do Instituto de Medicina Integral Professor Fernando Figueira, sob parecerno. 1720/2010. Resultados: constatou-se que o puerpério para as adolescentes trouxe intensas mudanças em suas vidas, cujaadaptação desvelou sentimentos essenciais e necessários à compreensão de sua condição de mãe. Conclusão: assim, percebe-seque pensar na maternidade adolescente é se apropriar de adolescências com contextos ímpares e subjetivos, necessários para nãose (pré)conceituar essa fase da vida.</p> Objetivo: Avaliar a satisfação de usuários em duas unidades de terapia intensiva (UTIs). Método: Trata-se de um estudo avaliativo, descritivo e qualitativo, realizado nas UTIs pediátrica mista (UTIPM) e obstétrica (UTIO) de um hospital do nordeste brasileiro. Participaram deste estudo 14 acompanhantes de crianças e neonatos e 15 mulheres internadas. A análise dos dados foi por análise de conteúdo e consequente construção de categorias. O estudo foi aprovado em comitê de ética e deontologia (CEDEP/UNIVASF) sob o nº 0001/201110. Resultados: Os sujeitos referiram boa recepção em ambas as UTIs, sentiram confiança nas equipes, e os cuidados foram avaliados positivamente. Porém, na UTIPM, relataram que o uso de termos técnicos nas informações dificultava seu entendimento. Na UTIO, salientaram que os cuidados com exames e procedimentos enfatizaram a humanização. Conclusão: A satisfação dos usuários é uma importante ferramenta de avaliação e gestão, como fator de (re)estruturação das práticas da gestão do cuidado.
