Apresenta o panorama da profissão de bibliotecário no Brasil, destacando a identidade do profissional nos dias atuais. Discorre sobre o histórico da profissão de Bibliotecário no Brasil. Aponta os aspectos relativos à formação do Bibliotecário e seus espaços de atuação. Utiliza, como metodologia pesquisa com levantamento bibliográfico em livros, periódicos e sites. Usa como fonte de pesquisa, documentos institucionais do Ministério da Educação (MEC), de associações e de órgãos representativos da profissão e universidades. Faz levantamento de dados em sites de classificados de emprego e divulgação de concursos, utilizando como argumento de busca a profissão de bibliotecário. Considera que a profissão bibliotecário, apesar de ser uma profissão milenar, mostra-se como uma profissão promissora e com grande diversidade de espaços de atuação.Palavras-chave: Bibliotecário. Resumo:As festas escolares foram algumas das iniciativas que o governo republicano, do início do século XX, propunha para difundir os ideais de civismo, patriotismo, disciplina e civilidade para toda a população. O objetivo deste artigo foi analisar a perspectiva das festas escolares, realizadas nos grupos escolares, ocorridas entre 1908 e 1930, tendo, como metodologia, a pesquisa bibliográfica e principalmente, documental através do Jornal "A Republica" do início do século XX. As festas não eram só um tipo de comemoração patriótica, solene ou recreativa, tinham a finalidade, também, de aprendizagem por parte dos alunos que se preparavam para recitar poemas, fazer monólogos, peças teatrais e apresentar seus trabalhos para toda a população escolar e extraescolar, já que por meio das festas escolares mantinham-se uma interação com a sociedade. Para satisfazer as necessidades informacionais dos usuários e promover seus serviços ofertados, a Biblioteca Pública Municipal Ney Pontes Duarte da cidade de Mossoró/RN deve construir estratégias de marketing que culminem no maior relacionamento para com os usuários. O objetivo deste artigo é apresentar o diagnóstico desta unidade de informação, através da análise SWOT, mostrando suas diretrizes organizacionais, os pontos fracos e fortes, as oportunidades e as ameaças, analisando sua importância formativa e social para o desenvolvimento humano, com o intuito de construir um plano de marketing para essa unidade informacional. A metodologia compreendeu pesquisa descritiva, operacionalizada via pesquisa bibliográfica e abordagem qualitativa. Os resultados evidenciam que o plano de marketing proporciona melhor visão sobre a organização, fazendo com que sejam elaboradas estratégias que subsidiem tomadas de decisão e que supram demandas antevendo possíveis problemas organizacionais. Conclui-se que as áreas da Ciência da Informação e do marketing tendem a dialogarem entre si para proporcionar uma maior interação e satisfação para os usuários e o crescimento das duas áreas.
