RESUMENEn las últimas décadas, la investigación formativa se encuentra posicionada en los currículos de formación profesional de las diversas áreas de conocimiento. La formación docente no ha sido la excepción. Se ha incluido a la investigación formativa como eje transversal del currículo, con el propósito de desarrollar habilidades investigativas y promover el desarrollo de procesos de pensamiento de alto orden. Para ello, ha sido necesario gestionar cambios en la didáctica, en la evaluación y sobre todo contar con un docente formador que tenga las cualidades necesarias para acompañar al estudiante en la construcción de conocimiento de manera autónoma y que, en el futuro, sea capaz de trasformar su realidad. Por lo tanto, la investigación formativa en la formación docente se debe centrar en los siguientes aspectos: primero, preparar al futuro profesional para hacer uso del conocimiento científico y tecnológico existente de manera innovadora, y empoderarlo frente al reto de transformar la realidad educativa desde la investigación; y segundo, desarrollar una actitud positiva y ética, evidenciada en la práctica de una cultura científica puesta de manifiesto en el pensar y actuar científico.
