Arg., Araucaria angustifolia (Bertol.) Kuntze, Euterpe edulis Mart. e Ilex paraguariensis A. St.-Hil. Palavras-chave: formações vegetais; classificação das parcelas; espécies indicadoras; espécies preferenciais. ABSTRACTPhytosociology of tree vegetation in Iguaçu National Park is inserted within Atlantic Forest biome and is considered the largest Brazilian non-Amazon Park. Despite its importance and its significant forest area, there are few scientific studies related to its vegetation. In order to meet this demand, we conducted a phytosociological inventory of the tree vegetation by means of plots installed in different environments, striving to achieve optimum environmental representation. In the classification of vegetation by TWINSPAN the forests were initially separated into ambient montane and submontane. An ecotone region between seasonal and araucaria forests was observed in the montane site, at an altitude above 700 m. The semideciduous forest montane was observed at altitudes of 600-700 meters. The Forest Seasonal Submontane in the lowlands was separated into two subformations, Typical and Humid, due to physiognomic variations regulated by geomorphology and humidity. According to the results, the tree vegetation of Iguaçu National Park is a remnant of great importance for the conservation of forest species in southern Brazil, among which stand out Aspidosperma polyneuron Müll. Arg., Araucaria angustifolia (Bertol.) Kuntze, Euterpe edulis Mart.
RESUMO -A bracatinga (Mimosa scabrella Benth.) ABSTRACTThe fixed carbon concept is normally related to the idea of storing carbon in forest soil and other vegetations type. This research aimed the modeling of total above ground organic carbon and also for the firewood component by unit of area fixed in Mimosa scabrella stands in the metropolitan region of Curitiba. The database came from 272 temporary sample plots with ages ranging from 3 to 18 years. It was tested 21 traditional models: 10 arithmetic ones and 11 logarithmic ones; it was also developed models by Stepwise process from a correlation matrix. The equation of best performance was chosen based on R²aj, Syx%, F value and on graphic analysis of residuals. A simple linear correlation between the used variables differed from those traditionally found results for volume of stands. This result was also observed in the fitting of mathematical models by stepwise, in which the variable average height didn't compose any adjusted model. Although efficient, selected traditional equations were less accurate than the equations adjusted by stepwise, reinforcing the importance and improving that this method represents to modeling studies.
This study aims to construct definitive sites curves for native bracatinga stands (Mimosa scabrella Benth) in the metropolitan region of Curitiba. Data used was extracted from 648 pairs of values of dominant height and age. Ten mathematical models were tested for guide curve fitting. Selection of the best performing model was based on adjusted coefficient of determination (R aj 2 ), standard error of estimate in percentage (S yx %) and graphic analysis of residuals. Models were tested and the Chapman-Richards model was selected for construction of limit curves of site classes due to the biological significance of its coefficients, statistical performance and good distribution of residuals. Curve anamorphism and model validity were verified using the test proposed by Kirby (1975). Curve stability was demonstrated based on stem analysis data composing part of the database. Site classification for bracatinga stands was thus considered suitable and can potentially be applied to development of growth and yield equations for this particular species.
Objective: to identify absenteeism of nursing technicians in an Intensive Care Unit and to verify the association between absenteeism and workload. Method: cross-sectional retrospective study of documentary source and quantitative approach. It was performed in an adult intensive care unit with 4,920 measurements from the Nursing Activities Score in 2017, in order to extract the nursing workload, and control absenteeism, considering the absences recorded in the management register of the department. Descriptive and inferential statistical analysis was performed, dividing the intensive care unit into two groups (ICU I and ICU II), according to team shifts. Results: in the period analyzed, 461 absences were observed, with a higher proportion in ICU II (5.35%, p-value=0.00). This group also had the highest Nursing Activities Score (99.76) average. However, workload and absenteeism showed no statistically significant correlation in the analyzed groups (ICU I, r=0.02 and ICU II, r=0.06). Conclusion: there was no statistically significant association between absenteeism and workload of nursing technicians in the Intensive Care Unit. However, the team with the highest workload was the most absent.
EVOLUTION OF DENDROMETRIC VARIABLES OF Mimosa scabrella BY SITE CLASS ABSTRACT:The identification of the growth rhythm of the dendrometric variables of forest species with the use of stem analysis is quick, efficient and of great importance in the decision making by forest managers. Thus, the objectives of this research were to analyze the annual evolution of the yield curves, Mean Annual Increment (MAI) and Current Annual Increment (CAI) in height, diameter, cross sectional area and volume of individual Mimosa scabrella Benth (Bracatinga) in different site classes, and also, to fit mathematical models to express the evolution of these variables over the years. The database came from complete stem analysis of 29 Mimosa scabrella trees collected in the metropolitan region of Curitiba, with ages ranging from seven to 18 years, distributed in three site classes. After the measurements and basic data processing, six mathematical models were adjusted for each one of the four dendrometric variables, independently for each site. The best model was chosen based on the adjusted coefficient of determination (R²aj), relative standard error of estimate (S yx %) and residual graphic analysis. The results showed that the Chapman-Richards model presented the best fitting for almost all analyzed variables in all three sites. It was also verified that the culmination order of the current annual increment followed the expected chronological order...
The knowledge of the environmental variable seffect on the distribution of tree species is of great importance, since it contributes to a greater efficiency on the management of forests and on the conservation of degraded areas. In order to identify these effects on native species from the western region of Paraná, 21 plots of 2,000 m2 were installed in the Iguaçu National Park. The plots were distributed along the altitude gradient, between 150 and 750 m, and in different positions of the drainage ramps, from the river banks to the plateau regions. After the data processing carried out by Canonical Correspondence Analysis, it was identified species that are distributed in the vegetation according to the variations of altitude, humidity, fertility, saturation by aluminum and soil clay content. Some species presented tolerance to the environmental variations, a typical characteristic of species of wide geographic occurrence.
