BORM Object Behavior Analysis (BOBA) is a first stage in a process of object modeling which has proved successful in a wide number of applications. This paper discusses this method and describes a simple application. One advantage of BOBA is the small number of concepts required combined with considerable expressiveness. In this way, BOBA is in the tradition established over the past few years by E-R modeling.
One of the major tasks facing any relief agency is the management of the large scale distribution offood stocks. Such a distribution involves the scheduling ofa large number of trucks, arrangingfuel distribution, loading arrangements etc. In a previous paper, we suggested u micro-computer based system for use in thefield by emergency relief managers for scheduling this distribution. The system was to be based on a mixture of 0. R. and knowledge-based inference techniques. In this paper we describe the progress so far in implementing this proposed solution.

533-544Additional Information:• This article was published in the journal, Control Prac- technologies. This paper focuses on developing a systematic method for the design of such a remote maintenance systems specifically for process control systems. Design issues of Internet-based remote maintenance systems for process control such as that proposed here include control performance assessment, fault detection, control performance maintenance, and heterogeneous data transfer over the Internet. A back-end and front-end architecture is proposed, in which all the heavy calculations are carried out locally. Light data and the characteristics of any heavy data are sent to the front-end located on the remote server for consideration by remote experts. The remote maintenance system is illustrated by reference to the implementation in a process control rig.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
