Conceptual understanding was one of cognitive aspect which ensure success rate of students. If conceptual understanding of students was good, students would been successful in following the course. The main goal of this study was to describe conceptual understanding of prospective student teacher after being taught using Problem based learning model. One shot case study design was chosen as research design. The research population for this study comprised all the second year students of chemistry education program which consisted of three classes. according to saturated sampling, all the members of population were selected as samples. they consisted of 71 students overall. Achievement Test was used to collect data. It was given to students to examine students' conceptual understanding. Data were then analyzed descriptively and quantitatively. The results from this study showed that students' conceptual understanding was in various rates. As many as 55 %, 15%, 3% and 27 % of students were classified as poor, fair, good, and very good respectively. AbstrakPemahaman konsep merupakan salah satu aspek kognitif yang menentukan tingkat keberhasilan peserta didik setelah melaksanakan proses pembelajaran. Jika pemahaman konsep yang dimiliki baik, maka peserta didik tersebut telah berhasil secara kognitif di dalam melewati proses pembelajaran. Tujuan pada penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan pemahaman konsep MAHASISWA setelah diajar menggunakan model problem based learning (PBL). Bentuk penelitian ini adalah pra-eksperimetal dengan rancangan the one-shot case study. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa program studi Pendidikan Kimia universitas Tanjungpura semester II yang terdiri atas 3 kelas. Teknik pemilihan sampel dilakukan dengan cara sampling jenuh, dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 71 mahasiswa. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan untuk menelaah masalah tersebut dilakukan melalui pengukuran dengan instrumen tes hasil belajar digunakan untuk mengukur pemahaman konsep mahasiswa. Deskripsi pemahaman konsep calon guru kimia diketahui dengan analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian diperoleh pemahaman konsep calon guru kimia setelah diajarkan menggunakan model PBL pada mata kuliah Manajemen Laboratorium diperoleh sebanyak 55% dengan kategori sangat kurang, 15% dengan kategori kurang, 3% dengan kategori baik, dan 27% dengan kategori sangat baik. The integration between the three levels of chemical representations is needed by students to get a comprehensive understanding. Based on the preliminary study only 45.5% out of 120 year 2 and year 3 students of chemistry education who passed the final exam with satisfactory category. Thus, teaching resources that integrate the three levels of chemical representation are needed. The aim of this study is to develop and determine the level of validity of e-module utilizing multiple representations of molecular shapes based on VSEPR theory using augmented reality technology. This research employs research and development refers to the instructional design of the ADDIE model consist of 5 stages: Analyze, Design, Develop, Implementation and Evaluation. The products of this research are the e-module of molecular shapes based on VSEPR theory utilizing multiple representations and Augmented Reality Molecule Simulator (ARMOR) application. The resources presented 13 types of molecular shapes, molecules with lone pair and without lone pair of electrons around the central atom. The instrument used in this study is the validity questionnaire sheet. Data collected were then analyzed using the percentage criteria proposed by Akbar. The results of the experts’ validation indicated that the product is categorized as very valid with 94% of content validity, 93% of media validity, and 99% of language validity. Therefore, the ARMOR is suitable for use in teaching and learning process. Students show a positive response to the use of the application in helping them understand concepts, which are easy to use, has an attractive appearance, and fun.
Pengembangan LKPD ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kebutuhan pembelajaran untuk melatih kemampuan berpikir peserta didik dalam memecahkan masalah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan kelayakan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL) pada materi koloid. Bentuk penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian pengembangan (research and development/R&D), dengan menggunakan model pengembangan 4-D. Sampel penelitian ini adalah LKPD berbasis PBL. Teknik pengumpul data yang digunakan yaitu komunikasi tidak langsung dengan menggunakan alat berupa lembar penilaian kelayakan LKPD berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL) yang dilihat dari aspek desain, bahasa, dan materi. Tenik analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penilaian kelayakan LKPD menurut para ahli diolah dengan cara menghitung rata-rata presentase skor masing-masing aspek yang diinterpretasikan menurut kriteria yang dikemukakan oleh Riduwan. Skor yang diperoleh meliputi validasi ahli materi dengan skor 95 %, validasi ahli bahasa dengan skor 88 %, validasi ahli desain dengan skor 100 %. LKPD berbasis Problem Based Learning sangat layak untuk digunakan
The purpose of this study was to describe the role of 5e (engagement, exploration, explanation, elaboration, and evaluation) learning cycle model in improving student conceptual understanding. The form of this study was a pre-experimental design with a design which was one shoot case study. The population consisted of all second-semester students of chemistry education program who had been taking a basic chemistry course. According to the purposive sampling technique, the A2 class was then chosen as a sample. Achievement test was utilized to collect data. Data analysis was carried out by means of the quantitative-descriptive method. According to analysis, students gained 34 % and 66% improvements on fair and poor levels respectively.
AbstrakPenelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa kelas XII MIPA 3 SMAN 8 Pontianak pada materi reaksi oksidasi dan reduksi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar siswa kelas XII MIPA 3 SMAN 8 Pontianak setelah diberikan model pembelaajran kooperatif debat kimia berbasis ICT. Bentuk penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas XII MIPA 3 SMAN 8 Pontianak. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah pengukuran dengan instrument penelitian mengunakan tes hasil belajar dan observasi langsung menggunakan lembar keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian diperoleh hasil belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan sebesar 3,78 pada siklus I, menjadi 7,14 pada siklus II.Kata kunci: Model kooperatif, debat kimia, ICT
The purpose of this study was to describe the symbolic, the microscopic, and the macroscopic levels of multi representation skills on Reaction Rate class among Science students of the eleventh grade of SMA Muhammadiyah Ketapang. The subjects of this study were 30 eleventh grade Science students of SMA Muhammadiyah ketapang. The data collection techniques were interview and test. The study reveals a number of findings. First, the symbolic level of multi representation skills of the first question was 86,5% (excellent), the second question was 59,22% (average), and the third question was 66% ( good). In other words, the students’ skill on symbolic level of multi representation is considered good by 70,57%. Second, the students’ skill on macroscopic level of multi representation on question number four is considered excellent by 83,86%, question number five is considered average by 68,57%, and question number six is considered very good by 77,14%. Overall, the students’ skill on macroscopic level of multi representation is very good by 76,52%. Last, the students’ skill on microscopic level of multi representation on question number seven is considered average by 52,86%, question number eight is considered poor by 36,14%, and question number nine is considered poor by 34,71%. In conclusion, the students’ skill on microscopic level of multi representation is below average by 41,25%.Keywords: Description, Multi Representation Skills, Reaction Rate
This research aims to know students’ response about learning process using learning cycle 5E model assisted with multimedia on colloid matter. Pre-experiment method with one-shot case study design was used regarding to this. There are 79 students of SMAN 7 Pontianak who involved in this research. indirect communication techniques was used to collect data. Based on the research is obtained very good student response to learning using the 5E learning cycle model of multimedia-assisted colloid matter. The information that is obtained from this research is a very good response of students to learning using the 5E learning cycle model of multimedia-assisted colloid matter. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran menggunakan model siklus belajar 5E berbantuan multimedia pada materi koloid. Untuk menjawab permasalahan digunakan metode pra-eksperimen dengan desain one-shot case study. Sebanyak 79 siswa SMAN 7 Pontianak terlibat dalam penelitian ini. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan komunikasi tak langsung.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh informasi bahwa respon siswasangat baik terhadap pembelajaran menggunakan model siklus belajar 5E berbantuan multimedia pada materi koloid. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh penilaian yang digunakan guru untuk mengetahui hasil tugas dan ujian siswa masih kurang praktis. Karena itu dibutuhkan media untuk membantu guru menilai hasil tugas dan ujian siswa secara cepat yaitu wondershare quiz creator. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan instrumen penilaian dengan menggunakan wondershare quiz creator pada materi konsep mol siswa kelas X SMK Negeri 7 Pontianak. Model pengembangan instrumen penilaian yang digunakan ini adalah 3-D yang dimodifikasi dari model 4-D Thiagarajan yaitu sebagai berikut: (1) pendefinisian, (2) perancangan, (3) pengembangan. Teknik pengumpul data yang digunakan adalah teknik pengukuran, komunikasi langsung, dan komunikasi tidak langsung. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa instrumen penilian menggunakan wondershare quiz creator yang dikembangkan sangat layak, mendapat respon positif dari siswa sebesar 76,49% dengan kriteria kuat, dan respon positif dari guru sebesar 90% dengan kriteria sangat kuat. Keefektifan diperoleh nilai probabilitas (sig) sebesar 0,106 > 0,05 yang berarti terdapat perbedaan yang tidak signifikan sebelum dan sesudah diberikan instrumen penilaian. Berdasarkan hasil analisis dapat disimpulkan bahwa instrumen penilaian menggunakan wondershare quiz creator yang dikembangkan valid, mendapat respon positif, dan kurang efektif digunakan untuk membantu guru dalam menilai hasil ujian. ABSTRACTThis study was aimed by the impractical assessment used by the teacher. Therefore, teachers need the efficient and effective assessment system to help their work, such as wonder quiz creator. This study aimed at developing the assessment instrument on the Mole Concept on the grade X students of SMK Negeri 7 Pontianak. The model used was a modified 4-D (to 3-D) Thiagarajan; definition, design, and development. The data collecting technique used were measurement, and direct and indirect communication. The study revealed that wondershare quiz creator was considered usable. The student's positive response was strong (76,49%) and the teacher's positive response was very strong (90%). The effectiveness obtained probability (sig) score of 0,106>0,05, which means that there was a difference of before and after the assessment instrument given. As a result, the wondershare quiz creator is considered valid and usable. It is also preferred by the students as their response are good and positive. However, it is less effective to assess the final test.
