<p>The aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of learning using SETS and local wisdom based colloids teaching material on 10th-gradesenior high school students. Pretest-posttest control group design was used as the study method. Two classes have participated. XA class was chosen as experiment group which was taught using SETS and local wisdom based colloids teaching material, while on the other hand XB class was chosen as the control group which was taught using conventional colloids teaching material. The study showed that there were significant differences between two treatments given. Entrepreneurial passion and concept understanding of experiment group were better than the control group. Overall, students’ entrepreneurial passion was good. Therefore, learning using SETS and local wisdom based colloids teaching material was effective to improve entrepreneurial passion and concept understanding of students</p><p> </p>
This study aimed to develop Student Worksheets (LKPD) based on the local wisdom of matter substances and their characteristics in order to improve the character of junior high school students. The development research design used was the ADDIE model which consists of 5 stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The instruments used in the study were validation sheets, observation sheets, response questionnaires, and self-assessment questionnaires about characters. The results of the study concluded that LKPD based on local wisdom was appropriate to be used in science learning, included in the practical category so as to make it easier for students to learn, and effectively develop students' character.
Learning science requires students not only to remember the subject matter but also to develop science literacy. One of the ways to develop science literacy competencies is by applying performance assessment in project-based learning that utilizes local potential. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of performance assessment in local-potential-based learning on environmental pollution subject matter. The research was carried out using a quasi-experimental method with a pre- and post-test design. The sample for the research is 7th grade students in Pontianak, and the data collection tool is an observation sheet using a science literacy rubric test. The research results show that performance assessment of project-based learning utilizing local potential can increase students’ science literacy.
Collaboration skills are essential for students when facing the working world in 21st-century society. The study aims to determine students' collaboration skills through inquiry and project-based learning in science. The descriptive method was implemented with surveys and interviews. The participants were 175 students from Junior High School. Data collection was carried out using collaborative skill observation sheets and an interview guide. The results showed that, in general, the collaboration skills of participants were categorized as high regarding the indicators of collaboration skills. The indicators consisted of contributing to group discussions (72.57 percent), working effectively in group discussions (77.14 percent), communicating in group activities (74.86 percent), and having responsibility for completing group assignments (75 percent). Therefore, teachers are advised to apply inquiry and project-based learning in science to improve student collaboration skills.
The characteristics of learners in learning need to get the attention from the teacher. However, the measurement of self-efficacy has not been implemented by teacher, and instrument to measure these capabilities are not available, and teachers do not understand the importance of information about students' self efficacy. The main aim of this development research is to produce a tool or instrument ratings whivch are valid, reliable and practical to measure self-efficacy in learning chemistry in junior high school. The method used in this research is the development methods. The results of this research is the availability of a viable instrument which can used to measure students" self-efficacy in learning chemistry in junior high school, which qualifies as a valid, reliable, and practical test.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
