English is an international language that use by many people in this world. Human used English to make communication in daily life. It can help human to make connection with other people, nation country in this world to get information. As we know in learning English there are four skills, they are: speaking, listening, writing, and reading. Vocabulary is also an essential skill for learning to read, speak, write and listen. Without sufficient vocabulary, people cannot communicate and express their feeling both in form of spoken and written effectively. Nowadays, the students must improve their vocabulary because in their school, they are not only learning vocabulary in English lesson, but also in other books, there are also some English vocabularies that must be known by students. In improving student vocabulary, the students need some method or technique. The used picture of media will be needed to help the students in teaching-learning vocabulary. Picture is one of visual material in teaching that well established. This researcher experience at learning practice program in SMP YPK Pematangsiantar, many of students were lack of vocabularies.The students had many problems in mastering English words and this situation made them to be lazy to study English. One of the strategies can be used to solve the problems in teaching English is using media. As what have been mentioned previously, the purpose of this research was to find out the effect by uding Picture media on students’ ability in english vocabulary at grade seventh SMP YPK. Researcher chose two classes as the sample that divided into two groups are VII-6 as Experimental Group and VII-4 as Control Group. From all the analyzed data, it is found that there was a significant using Picture media on students’ ability in English Vocabulary at grade seventh SMP YPK Pematangsiantar. It shows that the result of t-test was higher than t-table (5.02>1.67), therefore the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted.Based on the result of the research, it was concluded that by using Picture media on students’ ability in English Vocabulary is most effective.
At the end of 2019 the world was shaken by the Covid-19 outbreak. The Ministry of Education has also implemented a policy of studying at home online or online. When using the online learning system, it doesn't always run smoothly, there must be problems that can occur, namely problems such as students not understanding the material presented by the teacher and many students who only have one Android and there are even students who don't have Android at all, their environmental factors also do not support them to learn with focus. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors causing the decline in student learning potential during the pandemic using the c4.5 data mining method. The source of the research data was obtained from distributing questionnaires to high school students of the Family College Foundation. In this study, there are five criteria that influence the factors that cause the decline in student learning potential during the pandemic, namely: How to learn, study time, understanding of the material, assignment and environment. The calculation results state that the environmental criteria are the criteria that have the most influence on the factor of decreasing student learning potential. Tests were also carried out using the Rapidminer software and obtained an accuracy of 73.33%.
This research was conducted to increase students’ writing ability by using the Students Team Achievement Division (STAD) Technique. The researcher wanted to find out whether or not Students Team Achievement Division (STAD) Technique can increase the students’ writing skill and to analyze the classroom situation when the Students Team Achievement Division (STAD) Technique is implemented in writing class. The population of the research was the first semester students STIKOM Tunas Bangsa Pematang Siantar. This research used Classroom Action Research (CAR) and composed for two or more cycles then it observed and evaluated to identify all facts including the success and the failure of the action. It means that the action should be stopped or continued and revised to the next cycle based on the selected criteria of success. After the implementation of Students Team Achievement Division (STAD) Technique in every cycle, the students’ writing score were getting better. The result of student can be seen from the result of students’ average score by their writing. The first Cycle was 44.00 and the second Cycle was 77.00. After the implementation the students get better score. It can be concluded that Students Team Achievement Division (STAD) Technique can increase their ability in writing narrative text. This research was conducted to increase students’active involvement in their speaking ability by using the Think-Pair-Share Technique. The researcher wanted to find out whether or not Think-Pair-Share Technique can increase the students speaking skill and to analyze the classroom situation when the Think-Pair-Share Technique is implemented in speaking class. This research used Classroom Action Research (CAR) and composed for two or more cycles then it observed and evaluated to identify all facts including the success and the failure of the action. It means that the action should be stopped or continued and revised to the next cycle based on the selected criteria of success. After the implementation of Think-Pair-Share Technique in every cycle, the students’ speaking score were getting better. It can be seen from the result of students averagescore Cycle 1 was 65.17 and Cycle 2 was 74.81. It can be concluded that Think-Pair-Share Technique canincrease students’active involvement in their speaking ability.
