Malls are attracting the young shoppers and mall culture is new to the society. Mall retailers are making efforts to satisfy the young consumers. However, the younger segment is growing in terms of population and wealth. It has become increasingly important and necessary to understand and meet their demands. The study employed 160 in-depth interviews to understand the young consumers' mall experiences. Overall, the respondents in the study have favourable perception of the mall in terms of convenience, variety offered by malls, awareness of brands, aesthetics and hedonic factors. The researcher found eight elements that are important for young consumers to form impression of the shopping malls: convenience, choice, awareness, crowded/congested, ambience, parking, hedonic shopping and mall culture. Further the respondent studied the total number of hours on shopping, preference of shopping day and shopping time by young consumers. It was found that maximum number that respondents spend is up to 3 hrs on shopping, however weekends were preferred in comparison to weekdays. Maximum respondents preferred shopping at any suitable timing. The researcher also investigated specific mall attributes. Respondents also suggested that various attributes are considered important by the respondents. They highlighted various attributes-sitting arrangement, water dispensers, E-mapping, plain ramps, book browsing section and further expressed their concern regarding parking, security and customer service. The results can help mall retailers in capitalizing the consumers by meeting their needs.

:The present study investigated the design of an environment via visual communications, lighting, colours, music and scent to stimulate customers' perceptual and emotional response and ultimately affect their purchase behaviour. For the present research work purposive sampling, Interview schedule and convenient sampling methods were used to carry out the research work. The sample size consisted of 140 research scholars from faculty of arts and Sciences of Punjab University, Chandigarh. The major findings showed that store atmospherics bring a psychological feeling in the mind of customers who enters the store. The sight, sound, smell, displays, colour, mannequins in a retail store all contribute to customer perceptions. Almost all the customers get motivated by elegant store fronts, fantasy windows, mannequins, posters which influence their buying behaviour. It was further found out that store atmospherics emphasize on combining visual and other sensory elements that capture customer attention who enter the retail stores, awaken their senses through music, scent, and provides the customer a wonderful buying experience. Different types of displays attract, compel and persuade customer's senses, striking the right chord in him and arising in them an emotion to possess the product in display, thus persuade them to make an impulse purchase.

Make-Up is used as a beauty aid to help build up self-esteem and confidence of an individual. This research was conducted on "Use of Make-Up by Young Girls and Women with respect to their Self-Perception" to study the preference of female respondents for various items of Make-Up and the relationship between age of female respondents with reasons and frequency of wearing Make-Up. The researcher conducted a survey for which a questionnaire was prepared and used Interview method to collect data. The sample of the study included young girls and women between the ages 15 to 55 years.After completion of the survey, the researcher analysed the data collected. The following observations have been made during the analysis:-Younger Girls (Age group 15-25 years) in comparison to Older Women wear Make-Up to "Look Attractive" and to "Look Prettier". Among the Younger Women on the other hand, (Age group of 26-35 years) the most common reasons for wearing Make-Up are "Peer Pressure" and "Wanting to Experiment with their Looks" as well as to "Attract Peoples' Attention". In the age group of 36-45 years the reason given for wearing Make-Up was "to enhance their Overall Personality". Further among the more Senior Women (Age group 46-55 years) the reasons given for wearing Make-Up are to "Hide Flaws" and to "Hide Age". Thus the Hypothesis: Girls and Women have different reasons for wearing Make-Up is accepted. Further, the findings substantiate the results of a study conducted by Lauren A. Silverio (2009) who researched on "Makeup's effect on Self-Perception" The results of the present study also recognize that, wearing makeup does provide a certain amount of self-confidence to the wearer.

Clothing is an important basic requirement for everyone. It is a way of protecting the human body from extreme weather conditions and hostile environment conditions. Clothing is a style in which one represents oneself and expresses one's feelings and personality type. The present research was undertaken to study the Effect of Age on Styles of Clothing Preferred by Women in Chandigarh. A survey was conducted for which a questionnaire was prepared and used as an interview schedule to collect data. The sample of the study included girls and women between the ages 25 to 45 years. The analysis of data showed that younger women in the age group ranging between 25 to 30 years in comparison to older women in the age group ranging from 31 to 45 years feel that "Fashion Magazines" do not influence their Clothing Choices. Also, women in the age group of 25 to 30 years and 31 to 35 years feel that their Clothing Choices are not affected by "Looking at What Others Wear". Further, women of all age groups were neutral towards "Movies" influencing their Clothing Choices. It was further seen that women of age group of 25 to 30 years, 31 to 35 years and 36 to 40 years like to wear "Western Casuals", whereas Older Women in the age group of 41 to 45 years like to wear "Indian Casuals". It was also seen that women of age group 25 to 30 years, 31 to 35 years and 36 to 40 years were neutral towards the preference for "Circular Silhouettes" but, women of age group 41 to 45 years prefer wearing "Circular Silhouettes". Also, "A-Line Silhouettes" were preferred the most by the women of age group 25 to 30 years, 31 to 35 years and 41 to 45 years but women of age group 36 to 40 years said that they prefer "Circular Silhouettes" to "A-Line Silhouettes". Thus on the whole this research helped to conclude that women of different age groups feel differently about what and who inspires them to wear a certain style of clothing. Older women like to wear more of Indian style casual clothing and younger women prefer more of Western style casual clothing. Also there are distinct choices in preference for silhouettes as well.
