Many children are currently challenging to comprehend the mathematics learning, especially the counting. The children assumed that mathematics is a disliked subject, while most of the aspects in the daily life require the ability to count. The primary education about the numbers is still lacking. In early childhood, a math learning activity should be in a fun atmosphere in learning. To know numbers need to be presented creatively by using media such as multimedia-based computers so as not to get bored for the students. The application of number recognition for early childhood is equipped with sound to assist the students in pronouncing the numbers. By using the computer, the students can recognize the number 1 to 10 increased by about 37%, 39% of the students can write the numbers, and 15% of them can say the numbers.
Gender and power related speech patterns have been a focus of communication studies. Women and power used to be in opposite side of each other. On this ground, we were intrigued to investigate whether being a female leader has something to do with defying certain assumed ideals of women speech. This case study was conducted to women leaders engaged in a social community called Pelangi Nusantara. Concerning this study, we focused on the women leaders’ speech to examine the stereotyped-speech-pattern related to the use of hedges and politeness strategies in female speakers albeit holding a high position. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed along with the purposive technique to select the interviewees. Based on the analysis, it is revealed that despite holding a high position in the community, the female leaders mostly showed the stereotyped-speech-pattern through the use of hedges, convergence, and politeness strategies as influenced by their cultural background.
Pesatnya perkembangan entrepreneurship bisa menjadi salah satu alternatif karir wanita di pedesaan untuk bisa mendapatkan penghasilan sendiri. Secara kultural masyarakat masih menganggap aneh atau tabu jika seorang wanita berwirausaha. Fakta dilapangan saat ini menunjukkan hal berbeda, banyak wanita di pedesaan yang berhasil berwirausaha mandiri, bahkan menjadi tulang punggung keluarga. Penelitian ini mengangkat fenomena dimasyarakat yang berbeda dengan anggapan diatas, justru sekarang ini banyak wanita pedesaaan sukses berwirausaha. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji dan menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi wanita di pedesaan dalam mengambil keputusan untuk berwirausaha. Kesimpulan yang bisa diambil menunjukkan adanya faktor internal dan eksternal yang mendorong wanita pedesaan berwirausaha. Dorongan untuk meningkatkan kebutuhan hidup, berkarir dengan waktu yang fleksibel, mengisi waktu luang dengan produktif adalah pendorong wanita pedesaan berwirausaha. Hasil penelitian ini dapat dijadikan sebuah referensi untuk dapat mendorong peningkatan jumlah entrepreneur wanita di Indonesia khususnya di daerah pedesaan, juga dapat dijadikan acuan untuk memotivasi para wanita agar mau menjadi seorang entrepreneur.
