Milkfish is a fishery resource produced of aquaculture. This farming could be profitable if it is produced with optimal production. However, the milkfish productivity by fish farmers in North Aceh District was very low. Because were not efficient production factors used. The purpose of this study is to determine the factors that influence the production and the level of technical and economical efficiency of fish farming ponds. Cross section data o used in the survey. This data was analyzed by using stochastic frontier production and efficiency test. The research showed that the significant factors affecting the production of pond fish farming were the area of land, spindles, pesticides and feed. The fishponds in the research area had not reached the allocative efficiency. The research suggested that farmers optimize the production factors significantly consisting of like land, spindles, pesticides and feed to get full efficiency.
The high price of commercial feed causes higher production costs. The problem was experienced by fish farmers, including the groups of pond farmers in East Releut Village, North Aceh. The purpose of this activity is to improve the pond farmer's skills by developing artificial fish feed made from local raw materials using Moringa leaf flour. This service activity uses an educative, participatory, and persuasive method approach. Also, the procedures consist of several stages, that are socialization about artificial fish feed made from local raw materials, socialization about the introduction of various local raw materials that have the potential to be used as feed ingredients, socialization about manufacturing technology fish feed, training in the stages of making fish feed, and marketing training for artificial fish feed made from local raw materials. The socialization and training on the process of artificial feed also motivate pond farmers to produce fish feed made from local raw materials. The participants were very satisfied on the knowledge/information (64,58%), the explanation of knowledge (72,22%), and the whole activity (63,89%), and satisfied on discussion process (58,33%). Participants hoped that developing artificial feed products, could reduce the cost of production
This study examines efforts to increase milkfish production through technical efficiencycarried out in the District of Jangka, Bireuen Regency. The population was all milkfish pond farmers in the Jangka District, and the number of samples in this study were 78 milkfish pond farmers using a random sampling method. This research uses primary data and secondary data. Data were analyzed using the stochastic frontier method and analyzed descriptively qualitatively. The research objective is(1) analyze the factors of land area, labor, logs, fertilizers, feed and pesticides for milkfish pond farming, and (2)analyzethe level of technical efficiency of milkfish pond farming in the Jangka District of Bireuen Regency. The research results are therethe five production factors of milkfish pond farming, namely land area, labor, spindles, fish feed and pesticides which have a significant effect on milkfish production while the fertilizer variable has no significant effect on milkfish production. On average, milkfish pond farmers in the Jangka District of Bireuen Regency are technically efficient. However, farmers still have the opportunity to further increase efficiency, through the use of production factors according to their needs. It is recommended for further research to use more diverse variables so as to provide better results.
Red chili is one of the horticultural commodities that are needed by the community. However, the productivity of red chili in Aceh Utara is still low at 6.19 tons/ha. This study aims to analyze the factors that affect the production of red chili and analyze the economic efficiency of red chili farming in Sawang Sub-District, Aceh Utara. This research is located in Aceh Utara, precisely in Sawang Sub-District. The sampling method was carried out by census, namely as many as 40 red chili farmers. This study uses a data analysis method, namely the Cobb-Douglas function model with a Stochastic frontier approach. The results of the analysis show that the production factors that affect the production of red chili in Sawang District are land area, labor, and fertilizer, while the seed and pesticide production factors did not affect the red chili production. The results of the study also explained that red chili farming in the research location was technically efficient (ET=0.796), but did not achieve allocative and economical efficiency with the respective averages (EA = 0.439 and EE = 0.351).
