Street is a transportation infrastructure that people use in daily activities. The quality of street performance greatly affects community activities. Street performance is influenced by various activities around the street. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of on street parking toward street performance in terms of street capacity and level of service. The study was conducted in three stages, i.e. preliminary survey (determining the time and location of the study), data collection (geometric data of streets, traffic volume, parking volume, pedestrian volume, number of slow vehicles, and access of vehicles from the side of the street, data analysis (calculate streets capacity and level of service. The result of research shows that there is influence of on street parking activity toward street performance in Kaliurang street. The effective width of the street is 10 meters down by 3.6 meters and the street capacity decreases from 3097.5 smp/hour to 2151.5 smp/hour. The decline was caused by various activities on the side of the street such as one on street parking. On a weekday, the morning of the Monday and Thursday, the level of service in Kaliurang Street is at level C, while on the holidays precisely Sunday morning is at level B. The level of street services increased significantly during the afternoon. In the afternoon, the level of street services is at level E on weekday or holiday.
It is the purpose of this study to examine the domestic space arrangement of the private rental housings in kampung (urban village) settlement. Kampung Ngentak Sapen, an urban periphery settlement at Yogyakarta, Indonesia was selected as a case study due to the occurrence of a lot of its houses, which were gradually expanded to be a private rental housing. This study focused on how the households re-arrange their domestic space to be shared with the tenants. Besides, the implication of this change on spatial occupation within a private rental housing will be discussed. Investigations found that the occupation adjustment, spatial adjustment and extension of the original housing processes have developed the private rental housings. The domestic space arrangement of the private rental housing could be categorized into maximum separation, moderate separation, and minimum separation based on the number of spaces which might be interchangeably used by both the household and the tenants.
This study aims to: 1) determine the zoning for pedestrian ways; 2) determine the type of pedestrian ways in UNY; 3) to identify problems and solutions related to pedestrian ways in UNY. The method used in this research is descriptive with quantitative approach, by comparing the standard criteria for open space with the condition of reality. The technique of collecting data through observation and measurement of the dimensions of buildings and open spaces using the assistance planimeter website. Basic physical reviews grouping zones through which the road that separates the faculty contained in UNY. The results showed that: 1) zoning is physically in the Campus UNY consists of six zones, namely: Zone A (FT, LPPMP, LPPM), Zone B (FE, FIS, Dean Faculty, Kopma, PPs Lama, FIP), zone C (FBS, Science Faculty, Masjid Mujahideen), zone D (GOR UNY and vicinity), zone E (Stadiums, Tennis Court, FIK), and zone F (Rector, New PPs); 2) in real terms, there are four types of pedestrian ways in UNY, namely: Type 1 (separated), Type 2 (integration), Type 3 (dominant car), and Type 4 (corridor); 3) alternative solutions for problems of special dimensions and availability (level of service) the dimensions sidewalk pavement is in zone B is not ideal, while the sidewalks in zone A is sufficient available. Keywords: Pedestrian, Sidewalk, Yogyakarta State University.
