Objective: to identify and synthesize the scientific evidence on cancer patient safety in the administration of antineoplastic and immunotherapeutic chemotherapeutic agents. Method: a scoping review, according to the Joanna Briggs Institute and to the recommendations of the PRISMA-ScR international guide. The research was conducted in five electronic databases, the Cochrane Library and eight catalogs of theses and dissertations. The inclusion criteria were the following: studies related to patient safety in the administration of antineoplastic and immunotherapeutic chemotherapy by nurses in places where cancer care occurs, published entirely in Portuguese, Spanish and/or English, with no time limit. The extracted data were analyzed and synthesized in narrative form. Results: a total of 14,444 records were retrieved and 47 studies were kept for review. Most publications (44.7%) had a qualitative approach, while 40.4% were quantitative and 14.9%, mixed. When summarizing the findings, the following themes emerged: Safety standards in parenteral administration of antineoplastic chemotherapy; Good practices for patient safety using oral antineoplastic therapy; Administration and safe handling of immunotherapies; Prevention and management of errors related to the administration of antineoplastic and immunotherapeutic chemotherapeutic agents. Conclusion: patients safety with cancer in the administration of antineoplastic therapy occurs when there is implementation of evidence-based protocols, continuing education of nurses and implementation of safety standards and processes, as a strategy to prevent errors in drug administration.
Objective: To identify and map nursing care to the adult patient with Healthcare-Associated Infections admitted to the Intensive Care Unit. Method: Scoping Review, conducted in January 2018, through the search of studies in national and international databases, journals, catalogs of theses and dissertations, and websites of Brazilian health institutions. We included full surveys published in the Portuguese, Spanish or English language; which had as object of study the researched subject, besides manuals and protocols. We analyzed the type of material, year, country, population, method, Level of Evidence, and nursing care. The final sample consisted of 33 publications. Results: Among the nursing care to the patient, hand hygiene was identified, general care in nursing procedures, use of protocols, effective communication and periodic training. Conclusion: Identifying patient care with infection was important in order to list methods and reorient nursing activities.
Background The use of protocols allows systematizing, organizing and assessing services based on scientific evidence, thus helping the health work process. To validate the content and appearance of a graphic protocol for assessing safe nursing care for patients under hemodialysis. Method This is a methodological study with a quantitative approach developed between 2019 and 2020, organized into three procedures: theoretical, from a scoping review, regarding safe hemodialysis care; empirical studies in which the graphic protocol and checklist construction process took place. Finally, for validation using the Delphi technique, nine judges participated in two rounds to reach agreement among them. Data were tabulated and analyzed using simple descriptive statistics, Content Validity Coefficient (CVC) and level of agreement. Results Based on this scoping review content, a checklist and a graphic protocol were created, grouped into structure, process and result items. Regarding the content validity verification in Delphi I, the clarity, accuracy and modality criteria obtained CVC = 0.77 in the checklist. After adjustments and Delphi II, all indices were above 0.80. In the appearance validation process, in Delphi I, it was possible to achieve a total CVC greater than 0.80, in Delphi II, they were greater than 0.88, and the checklist presented a CVC of 0.91. Conclusion A graphic protocol and a checklist for assessing safe care for patients under hemodialysis, valid in their content and appearance, are presented.
