Premature droputs in the group teatment of bulimia may be disruptive to the development of group process and cohesiveness. This article presents the results of a discriminant analysis of persisters versus dropouts across six bulimia groups. The discriminant analysis was able to correctly classify dropouts and persisters 83% of the time on demographic variables, 73% on tension and anxiety variables, and 90% of the time using cognitive variabels, Specific charactersistics of persisters and dropouts and treatment implications are discussed.
