A pandemia do SARS-CoV-2 provocou e ainda provoca um grande impacto em diversas esferas da população mundial. O impacto da pandemia da COVID-19 no Sistema Único de Saúde foi evidenciado pela alta exigência de internações, gerando a falta de equipamentos e leitos, uma vez que o SUS já enfrentava dificuldades no manejo de determinadas doenças, tendo que se adaptar de forma repentina para atender à demanda de pacientes com COVID-19. A epidemiologia é ferramenta fundamental na proteção de grandes populações e a coleta de dados e suas interpretações auxiliam a definir manejos mais adequados as doenças. Este trabalho objetivou identificar o perfil epidemiológico de pacientes internados por COVID-19 no Hospital Regional da Asa Norte (HRAN). Trata-se de estudo transversal, quantitativo e comparativo com dados coletados de prontuários eletrônicos de pacientes diagnosticados com infecção por COVID-19 no HRAN, entre janeiro e junho de 2020. Foram Incluídos pacientes ≥ 18 anos portadores de COVID 19, comprovados por exame de RT-PCR positivo, de ambos os sexos, internados nas unidades de clínica médica, clínica cirúrgica e cirurgia plástica. Foram avaliados 106 pacientes, sendo 71 adultos e 35 idosos. Foram investigadas as variáveis sexo, idade, teste RT-PCR confirmatório para COVID-19, tempo de internação, desfecho clínico, comorbidades, exames de imagem, exames laboratoriais e principais medicamentos. A amostra total foi composta por 106 pacientes, sendo 67,0% adultos (n=71) e 33,0% idosos (n=35). As altas representaram 98,1%. Idosos tiveram média de dias de internação e número de comorbidades proporcional maiores que os adultos. Houve presença de hipertensão arterial sistêmica (HAS) e doença renal crônica, estatisticamente maiores entre idosos. Exames de hemoglobina, AST, ALT, CPK e Gama GT foram estatisticamente maiores entre adultos. Foram encontradas grandes elevações em exame de ferritina nos 2 grupos. A tomografia computadorizada (TC) de tórax revelou padrão de vidro fosco em todos os pacientes, com predominância de acometimento bilateral. O tratamento farmacológico revelou o uso de associação de Azitromicina e ceftriaxona em 94,33% dos pacientes sendo que destes 34% (n=34) apresentaram Azitromicina + ceftriaxona + Oseltamivir, 17% (n=17) Azitromicina + ceftriaxona + cloroquina/hidroxicloroquina e 12% (n=12) Azitromicina + ceftriaxona + Oseltamivir + cloroquina/hidroxicloroquina. Os corticoesteroides foram utilizados em 21,6% e os anticoagulantes em 80,1% dos pacientes. A COVID-19 é uma doença nova, potencialmente fatal e de alta infectividade, com pior prognóstico para pacientes de idade avançada, com comorbidades e maior acometimento pulmonar. Entendemos que este trabalho, pode colaborar com a consolidação do perfil epidemiológico, fatores de risco para o desfecho clínico, principais alterações laboratoriais relacionadas à infecção por COVID-19 e ainda a terapia farmacológica instituída por um hospital referência no tratamento da COVID-19.
A sepse configura-se como síndrome infecciosa complexa, com elevada incidência e morbimortalidade em vítimas de queimaduras. O presente estudo objetiva verificar epidemiologia, agentes etiológicos e fatores contribuintes para o desfecho clínico de sepse em pacientes queimados. MÉTODO: estudo transversal, quantitativo e qualitativo realizado a partir da análise de prontuário dos pacientes internados na Unidade de Tratamento de Queimados do HRAN durante o ano de 2018. RESULTADOS: no período em questão, 280 pacientes foram internados por injúria térmica, sendo 33% mulheres e 67% homens, com predominância em adultos (71%) seguido por crianças (17%). Os agentes causadores mais comuns foram fogo (58%) e escaldadura (35%), com média de SCQ equivalente a 14,9%. O tempo de permanência dos internados da UTQ foi de 11,6 dias, sendo que 92% receberam alta, 6% faleceram e 2% apresentaram outro desfecho. Dos 280 queimados, apenas 14 (7,7%) evoluíram com sepse, com amostra predominantemente masculina (64%). As faixas etárias mais acometidas foram de 19 a 59 anos (78%) e acima de 60 anos (21%), nenhuma criança ou adolescente evoluiu com
