This study was conducted to investigate the perspectives of sports science students on factors affecting distance learning in the setting of Indonesian higher education institutions (HEIs). This study proposed an extended technology acceptance model (TAM) with eight variables; experience, enjoyment, self-efficacy, perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, attitude, intention to use, and actual use. An online survey was used to collect data from 1291 respondents. The structural model was examined through the partial least square structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). The multi-group analysis (MGA) was conducted to understand the role of geographical areas in moderating all hypothetical relationships. The findings show that the respondents were not excited about online learning due to weak means (below 3) for most items of five variables; enjoyment, perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, attitude, and intention to use. All relationships were supported except the relationship between experience and perceived usefulness. The strongest significant relationship emerged between intention to use and actual use. Meanwhile, the least significant relationship was found between self-efficacy and perceived usefulness. Three out of 12 hypotheses were confirmed regarding the differences of geographical areas (rural and urban) regarding all relationship paths. The findings add to a deeper understanding of the acceptability of distance learning during pandemics like COVID-19.
Growth, Net Assimilation and Yield Analysis of Eggplant(Solanum melongena L.): Dosage of Goat Manure and NPK FertilizerThe research was aimed to obtain the dose of goat manure, NPK fertilizer and the interaction in increasing the growth and yield of eggplant. The research was usedthe randomized block design factorial with the first factor (goat manure) such as K0= 0 ton.ha-1, K1= 10 ton.ha-1, K2= 20 ton.ha-1 and the second factor (NPK Mutiara 16-16-16) such as P0= 0 ton.ha-1, P1= 100 ton.ha-1, P2= 200 ton.ha-1, P3= 300 ton.ha-1 with three replications. This research was conducted at Jl. Eka Rasmi, Medan Johor Subdistrict, Medan, North Sumatra from August until October 2019. The parameters such as plant height, leaf area, fresh weight of root and shoot, dry weight of root and shoot, total dry weight, fruitweight.plant-1, fruit weight.plot-1, crop growth rate (CGR), relative growth rate (RGR), and net assimilation rate (NAR) wereanalyzed using the ANOVA and the means were followed by DMRT test at the level of 5% used the IBM SPSS Statistics v.20. The results showed an increase in leaf area, fresh weight of shoot, dry weight of root, dry weight of shoot, total dry weight, and fruit weight.plant-1, of eggplant plant with the increasing dose of goat manure up to 20 ton.ha-1of 23.27%; 35.85%; 17.64%; 16.55%; 16.66%; and 17.18%, respectively compared to untreated except plant height. Growth in leaf area, fresh weight of shoot, dry weight of root, dry weight of shoot, total dry weight, fruit weight.plant-1 and fruit weight.plot-1of eggplant plant were increased with increasing NPK fertilizer dosage up to 300 kg.ha-1of 16.88%; 25.96%; 24.08%; 38.37%; 34.46%; 21.85%; and 19.22%, respectively compared to untreated. The interaction of goat manure with NPK does not significantly affect on the growth and yield of eggplant plant. The CGR, RGR, and NARvalue in the giving of goat manure from 10 until 30 days after planting was higher compared to the application of Mutiara NPK fertilizer.
Intestinal worm infections that are transmitted through the soil so called Soil Transmitted Helminthes (STH) is still an important public health problem, particularly in developing countries including Indonesia. Worms that caused intestinal infections which are transmitted through soil are often found in in elementary school-age children namely Ascaris lumbricoides, Trichuris trichiura and hookworm (Ancylostoma duodenale and Necator americanus). This study tried to find out the relationship of knowledge, attitudes and actions to STH infection at grade 1, 2 and 3 of SDN Pertiwi Lamgarot Ingin Jaya Aceh Besar district. This is a cross-sectional design research. The population of this study was all students grade 1, 2 and 3 of SDN Pertiwi for about 125 students. There were 95 samples were selected by using proportional sampling. The data were collected by using questionnaires about knowledge, attitudes and actions, and also by examining students’ faeces by using Kato-Kazt. The data were processed by using Chi Square to see the relationship of knowledge, attitudes and actions with STH infection. The results showed that 32 students were positively infected with STH prevalence rate 33.68%. Based on the results of the Chi Square test, it was showed that there were relationships among knowledge, attitudes and actions with STH infection at students grade 1, 2 and 3 of SDN Pertiwi Lamgarot Ingin Jaya Aceh Besar district. Non-invasive measurement hormones in feces using enzyme immunoassay (EIA) technique needs to be validated. This study was conducted to develop and validate an enzyme immunoassay kit for measuring the concentration of cortisol metabolites in feces of Toraya buffalo. An EIA kit of 11β-hydroxyetiocholanolone (11β-hydroxy-CM assay) was developed and validated analytically and biologically using feces of Toraya Buffalo for cortisol metabolite measurements. Analytical validation comprises the parallelism test, accuracy, precision, and assay sensitivity. Biological validation performed by comparing concentration cortisol metabolites in feces of Toraya buffalo before and after pa’silaga tedong, a fighting contest of buffalo during the death ceremony of rambu solo at Tana Toraja, South Sulawesi Province. Results showed that the curve of serial dilution of fecal samples was parallel with the 11β-hydroxy-CM standard curves. The accuracy and sensitivity of the 11β-hydroxy-CM assay were 96.21%±7.59 and 0.78pg/well, respectively. The precision based on coefficient variation (CV) of intraand inter-assay was < 10% and < 15%, respectively. Biological validation results showed that cortisol metabolites concentrations after pa’silaga tedong were increased 3-10 fold than before pa’silaga tedong. In conclusion, the 11β-hydroxy-CM assay is a reliable assay for measuring cortisol metabolites in feces of Toraya buffalo.
