Fish distribution from Sibolga was caught using purse seine. This fishing gear is very popular among fishermen in Sibolga. The main construction with a mesh size < 1 inch is very beneficial for fishermen. The purpose of this report is to determine the types of purse seine operating at PPN Sibolga and to analyze the suitability of purse seine construction based on government policies. The methods used were interviews and observation. Data collection was done by measuring 5 samples. The result is that the type of purse seine that operates at PPN Sibolga consists of 2 types, namely auxis purse seine and tight purse seine. The length of the purse seine construction used is 500 meters with a mesh size of 20-30 mm, while based on KEPMEN KP number 71/2016, the length of the net of 300–600 m must have a mesh size of ≥ 1 inch. The mesh size used by Sibolga fishermen is smaller and does not comply with regulations. Other constructions are stated to be in accordance with the references listed. . Pengembangan perikanan tangkap berbasis CCRF dapat dilakukan untuk memanfaatkan potensi perikanan tangkap secara optimal. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis alat tangkap jaring insang berdasarkan dokumen CCRF sebagai kelanjutan dalam memberikan kebijakan dalam penggunaan alat tangkap. Metode pengambilan data yaitu menggunakan kuesioner selanjutnya dianalisis menggunakan statistika deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kekurangan dari penggunaan jaring insang yaitu terdapat pada mutu ikan yang tertangkap cenderung sedikit mengalami cacat fisik (bagian operkulum), serta masih tertangkapnya hasil tangkapan sampingan. Kesimpulan dari penelitian yaitu bahwa alat tangkap jaring insang direkomendasikan untuk digunakan oleh nelayan karena sesuai dengan kriteria alat tangkap ramah lingkungan yang memenuhi ketentuan dokumen CCRF.
Trammel net has ability to catch demersal organisms which is dominated at the bottom of its net body. It is caused the slackness of trammel net is only found at that section. This study tried to increase the slackness of the nets at the different positions. The aims are to determine the catchs composition and to prove whether the increasing of the slackness will affect the number of catchs. This research was conducted by using 3 trammel nets as control (TK) with one slackness and 3 treated trammel nets (TP) with 3 slackness. The whole trammel net were operated with total of 35 settings at Lontar waters. The results showed that the increasing of slackness did not affect the catchs composition.Each trammel net resulted the same composition of catchs, namely four species of shrimps, ten species of demersal fishes, two species of crabs and one species of non demersal fishes. Trammel net TP resulted 581 individuals (20,10 kg) which is higher than trammel net TK with 277 individuals (7,38 kg).Keyword: demersal organism, non demersal organism, slackness, trammel net ABSTRAKKemampuan trammel net menangkap organisme demersal terpusat pada bagian bawahnya. Ini disebabkan oleh kekenduran jaring hanya terdapat pada bagian tersebut. Desain trammel net dalam penelitian ini memiliki 3 kekenduran pada posisi ketinggian yang berbeda. Tujuannya adalah untuk menentukan apakah penambahan kekenduran akan merubah komposisi jenis hasil tangkapan dan membuktikan bahwa penambahan kekenduran dapat meningkatkan jumlah hasil tangkapan. Penelitian menggunakan 3 trammel net kontrol (TK) yang memiliki 1 kekenduran dan 3 trammel net perlakuan (TP) dengan 3 kekenduran. Kedua konstruksi trammel net disusun berselang-seling dan dioperasikan secara bersamaan sebanyak 35 setting. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa penambahan kekenduran tidak mempengaruhi komposisi jenis hasil tangkapan. Masing-masing trammel net menghasilkan jenis tangkapan yang sama, yaitu 4 jenis udang, 10 jenis ikan demersal, 2 jenis kepiting dan 1 jenis ikan non demersal. Perairan Selat Malaka yang subur memiliki bermacam-macam sumber daya ikan laut diantaranya jenis-jenis udang, ikan demersal dan ikan pelagis. Sumber daya ikan di WPP 571 yang kaya akan ikan pelagis, membuat alat tangkap purse seine cocok untuk dioperasikan sekitar perairan WPP 571. Purse seine merupakan salah satu jenis alat tangkap aktif yang bersifat multi spesies, karena hasil tangkapannya lebih dari satu jenis ikan. Tujuan penelitian ini penulis ingin memahami alat bantu penangkapan purse seine dan alat navigasi di KM. Sumber Abadi dan pengoperasian di KM. Sumber Abadi. Hasil dari data yang didapat dilapangan diketahui daerah penangkapan ikan KM. Sumber Abadi di WPP 571 Selat Malaka. Pengoperasian alat tangkap purse seine secara bertahap, yaitu penurunan alat tangkap (setting) penarikan tali kerut penarikan badan jaring (hauling) penaikan hasil tangkapan (brailing), waktu yang diperlukan untuk satu kali pengoperasian adalah 2 sampai 3 jam. Alat bantu penangkapan purse seine yang ada di atas kapal KM. Sumber Abadi adalah Lampu robot, Gardan, Power block, GPS (Global Position System), Echsouder dan Radio SSB.
Small-scale fishery activities that often occur in coastal areas Dumai City are part of the socio-ecological system, where the waters around the coastal areas provide services to several fishermen who live around and are interrelated with each other. This study aimed to identify the dynamic of social and ecological systems to the sustainability of small-scale fisheries in the waters of Dumai City. The are 3 research location in village, namely Pelintung, Tanjung Palas, and Bangsal Aceh. The research method is a survey using interview techniques with a questionnaire. The data analysis in this research is descriptive qualitative, fishing gear productivity, fishermen’s income, and the relationship dynamics of the catch. The social characteristics of fishermen can be shown from their education, where most of the fishermen in Dumai City have elementary school education. The wives of fishers in Dumai City are mostly still taking care of the household, and only a few are processing fish. Fishers in Dumai City also carry out the duration of fishing operations based on the type of fishing gear (gillnet, scoop net, and portable trap). For the last seven years, the productivity of fishing with gillnet fishing gear has increased, while for scoop net and portable trap fishing gear, it has tended to decrease. The RPUE value of gillnet fishers shows the highest profit, where the average income in one trip is IDR 1,086,050.00 compared to other fishers. The fishermen’s perception also shows that the catch of gillnet fishers during the last five years has increased.
