This paper aims to find a statistical model for the COVID-19 spread in the United Kingdom and Canada. We used an efficient and superior model for fitting the COVID 19 mortality rates in these countries by specifying an optimal statistical model. A new lifetime distribution with two-parameter is introduced by a combination of inverted Topp-Leone distribution and modified Kies family to produce the modified Kies inverted Topp-Leone (MKITL) distribution, which covers a lot of application that both the traditional inverted Topp-Leone and the modified Kies provide poor fitting for them. This new distribution has many valuable properties as simple linear representation, hazard rate function, and moment function. We made several methods of estimations as maximum likelihood estimation, least squares estimators, weighted least-squares estimators, maximum product spacing, Crame´r-von Mises estimators, and Anderson-Darling estimators methods are applied to estimate the unknown parameters of MKITL distribution. A numerical result of the Monte Carlo simulation is obtained to assess the use of estimation methods. also, we applied different data sets to the new distribution to assess its performance in modeling data.
This paper introduces the new novel four-parameter Weibull distribution named as the Marshall–Olkin alpha power Weibull (MOAPW) distribution. Some statistical properties of the distribution are examined. Based on Type-I censored and Type-II censored samples, maximum likelihood estimation (MLE), maximum product spacing (MPS), and Bayesian estimation for the MOAPW distribution parameters are discussed. Numerical analysis using real data sets and Monte Carlo simulation are accomplished to compare various estimation methods. This novel model’s supremacy upon some famous distributions is explained using two real data sets and it is shown that the MOAPW model can achieve better fits than other competitive distributions.
A new five-parameter transmuted generalization of the Lomax distribution (TGL) is introduced in this study which is more flexible than current distributions and has become the latest distribution theory trend. Transmuted generalization of Lomax distribution is the name given to the new model. This model includes some previously unknown distributions. The proposed distribution's structural features, closed forms for an rth moment and incomplete moments, quantile, and Rényi entropy, among other things, are deduced. Maximum likelihood estimate based on complete and Type-II censored data is used to derive the new distribution's parameter estimators. The percentile bootstrap and bootstrap-t confidence intervals for unknown parameters are introduced. Monte Carlo simulation research is discussed in order to estimate the characteristics of the proposed distribution using point and interval estimation. Other competitive models are compared to a novel TGL. The utility of the new model is demonstrated using two COVID-19 real-world data sets from France and the United Kingdom.
This paper is concerned with the estimation of the Weibull generalized exponential distribution (WGED) parameters based on the adaptive Type-II progressive (ATIIP) censored sample. Maximum likelihood estimation (MLE), maximum product spacing (MPS), and Bayesian estimation based on Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) methods have been determined to find the best estimation method. The Monte Carlo simulation is used to compare the three methods of estimation based on the ATIIP-censored sample, and also, we made a bootstrap confidence interval estimation. We will analyze data related to the distribution about single carbon fiber and electrical data as real data cases to show how the schemes work in practice.
There is a long history of interest in modeling Poisson regression in different fields of study. The focus of this work is on handling the issues that occur after modeling the count data. For the prediction and analysis of count data, it is valuable to study the factors that influence the performance of the model and the decision based on the analysis of that model. In regression analysis, multicollinearity and influential observations separately and jointly affect the model estimation and inferences. In this article, we focused on multicollinearity and influential observations simultaneously. To evaluate the reliability and quality of regression estimates and to overcome the problems in model fitting, we proposed new diagnostic methods based on Sherman–Morrison Woodbury (SMW) theorem to detect the influential observations using approximate deletion formulas for the Poisson regression model with the Liu estimator. A Monte Carlo method is done for the assessment of the proposed diagnostic methods. Real data are also considered for the evaluation of the proposed methods. Results show the superiority of the proposed diagnostic methods in detecting unusual observations in the presence of multicollinearity compared to the traditional maximum likelihood estimation method.
In injuries reducing ambulance response time (time from injury to hospital arrival) is an important factor for saving people's lives. Helicopter emergency medical services can reduce out-ofhospital transport times because of their high speed and their ability to travel in straight paths unlike ground ambulance which are restricted to road network paths, as well as the ability to access rural or remote area injuries that are difficult to reach by ground ambulance. GIS technology aids air ambulance movement planning to reduce out-of-hospital response time based on mathematical and geographic models to support decision making which is necessary from out-ofhospital care providers. The goal of this study is to use GIS to develop an efficient DSS to outline where air ambulance can reduce response times, by using spatial analysis tools to create Euclidean distance and direction zones around receiving hospitals. The study concludes that GIS technology can be used to develop an efficient DSS to outline where air ambulance can reduce response times, by creating surfaces of Euclidean allocation, direction, and distance that can be used to improve initial response times for the civil defense air rescue and air ambulance services.
Factor discovery of public health surveillance data is a crucial problem and extremely challenging from a scientific viewpoint with enormous applications in research studies. In this study, the main focus is to introduce the improved survival regression technique in the presence of multicollinearity, and hence, the partial least squares spline modeling approach is proposed. The proposed method is compared with the benchmark partial least squares Cox regression model in terms of accuracy based on the Akaike information criterion. Further, the optimal model is practiced on a real data set of infant mortality obtained from the Pakistan Demographic and Health Survey. This model is implemented to assess the significant risk factors of infant mortality. The recommended features contain key information about infant survival and could be useful in public health surveillance-related research.
