O objetivo deste trabalho é análise da evolução da regulação da exploração e comércio do petróleo no Brasil, que teve início com a aprovação da Lei do Petróleo (1997), discutindo de que forma ideias e interesses públicos e privados interagem com as instituições vigentes, assim como com ações políticas e condições econômicas, para gerar nova configuração do setor petrolífero. Este trabalho aponta, ainda, para a determinação histórica das escolhas dos agentes, mostra como as condições econômicas foram determinantes na construção da política econômica brasileira em torno da exploração do petróleo, aliadas aos interesses representados pelas instituições multilaterais. Esclarece, por fim, a importância do volume de reservas de petróleo na determinação do novo marco regulatório do petróleo e demonstra a razão para a escalada de valor da Petrobras e como tais aspectos podem impactar em Políticas Públicas de bem estar social. Contudo, para fins metodológicos, foi realizada uma revisão narrativa de literatura, ocorrendo de abril de 2014 à janeiro de 2019, de duas maneiras: acesso aos catálogos de dissertações e teses do Banco de Teses da Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES) e Biblioteca Digital Brasileira de Teses e Dissertações (BDTD).
Este trabalho tem o objetivo de analisar os impactos ambientais de atividades de exploração e produção de petróleo e de discutir também o risco da atividade para as populações e ecossistemas sensíveis na área de influência direta. Partindo do entendimento das atividades da indústria do petróleo em suas diversas etapas, este se fundamenta numa pesquisa bibliográfica. Aborda os principais pontos da história, a composição do petróleo, extração, produção, enfim, todas as fases de seus processos de obtenção de derivados. O presente artigo tem como perspectiva ampliar o conhecimento a respeito dos impactos que o refino de petróleo causa ao meio ambiente, pois, para se obter os produtos finais do petróleo são necessários diversos processos para que sejam retirados os seus derivados. Tais processos geram diversos danos aos recursos naturais em especial os hídricos; aumentando também os danos ao ecossistema.
