The research deals with the market assessment of pear varieties in Serbia. Market assessment represents the willingness of customers to consume a certain fruit or a certain variety. This research applies a market assessment of pear varieties based on expert decision making. Together with the experts, the criteria and varieties of pears used in the research are determined. Ten criteria and six varieties of pears that are mostly grown in Serbia are used. Experts evaluated pear varieties based on linguistic values according to selected criteria. Based on these values, and using fuzzy logic, the weights of the criteria are first determined using the fuzzy CRITIC method (criteria importance through intercriteria correlation), and pear varieties are ranked using the fuzzy CRADIS method (compromise ranking of alternatives from distance to ideal solution). The obtained results show that the highest rated varieties are Konferans and Viljamovka, while the lowest rated variety is Šampionka. Sensitivity analysis confirms these results. The obtained results will help cultivators and fruit vendors to choose those varieties that will achieve the best market results. This study is conducted to provide guidelines for the use of fuzzy methods in marketing assessment in fruit growing.
Food wastage occurs along the entire food chain, from field to table. As much as it is an ethical issue on one hand, it also leads to economic losses and has negative impacts on the environment. Food wastage is, therefore, a significant problem for modern society and the first step in solving it is to identify and understand the reasons for its emergence in each part of the food chain and specific sectors-in this case, the hospitality sector. In order to create practices and recommendations aimed primarily at preventing food wastage, food waste categorization and quantification is essential. This is not that simple, especially in the hospitality sector, given the uneven production of food, and the specific and diverse ways of running a business in this sector. What is certain is that food waste management should be an integral part of management in the hospitality sector, primarily because an effective food safety management system is the starting point for implementing most of the practices that lead to both safe final product and reduction of food waste.
The aim of this paper is to formulate quantitative models to predict future trends in corn production in the Republic of Srpska. The applied research methods are the descriptive analysis method, and the analytical statistical method, i.e. the Box-Jenkins Model based on the ARIMA model (Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average). The results of the research show that the corn production indicators, as the most important crop in the Republic of Srpska, will, despite the oscillations, show an increase in the last year of the five-year prediction period (2018-2022) compared to the previously analysed twenty-two year period (1996-2017). The formulation of such forecasting models is a good basis for planning the overall crop production in the Republic of Srpska.
Ovaj rad se bavi analizom i procenom prisutnosti elemenata anglofone, domaće (lokalne) i međunarodne kulture u udžbeniku za engleski jezik – Pioneer B2, MM Publications (2015). Metodom analize sadržaja udžbenika, teme kao što su umetnost, muzika, istorija, književnost, običaji, geografija, sport i slobodno vreme dele se u jednu od tri kategorije, anglofona, domaća ili međunarodna kultura, koje se potom dalje tumače u svetlu elemenata površinske ili dubinske kulture. Kao velika prednost udžbenika ističe se širok raspon savremenih tema i interkulturalnih sadržaja što nesumnjivo doprinosi jačanju interkulturalne kompetencije učenika, a prisustvo elementa dubinske kulture drugih nacija podstiče razvoj globalne svesti. Nedostatak ovog udžbenika ogleda se u odsustvu elemenata ciljne kulture na oba nivoa. Autentični materijali nisu sastavni deo sadržaja, te su na taj način učenici uskraćeni za izvorne jezičke materijale koji bi im mogli omogućiti da ostvare dodir sa segmentima stranog jezika koji će im biti potrebni u daljem obrazovnom i profesionalnom angažovanju.
