Stereo vision has become an attractive topic research in the last decades. Many implementations such as the autonomous car, 3D movie, 3D object generation, are produced using this technique. The advantages of using two cameras in stereo vision are the disparity map between images. Disparity map will produce distance estimation of the object. Distance measurement is a crucial parameter for an autonomous car. The distance between corresponding points between the left and right images must be precisely measured to get an accurate distance. One of the most challenging in stereo vision is to find corresponding points between left and right images (stereo matching). This paper proposed distance measurement using stereo vision using Semi-Global Block Matching algorithm for stereo matching purpose. The object is captured using a calibrated stereo camera. The images pair then optimized using WLS Filter to reduce noises. The implementation results of this algorithm are furthermore converted to a metric unit for distance measurement. The result shows that the stereo vision distance measurement using Semi-Global Block Matching gives a good result. The obtained best result of this work contains error of less than 1% for 1m distance
Solar radiation forecasting is important in solar energy power plants (SEPPs) development. The electrical energy generated from the sunlight depends on the weather and climate conditions in the area where the SEPPs are installed. The condition of solar irradiation will indirectly affect the electrical grid system into which the SEPPs are injected, i.e. the amount and direction of the power flow, voltage, frequency, and also the dynamic state of the system. Therefore, the prediction of solar radiation condition is very crucial to identify its impact into the system. There are many methods in determining the prediction of solar radiation, either by mathematical approach or by heuristic approach such as artificial intelligent method. This paper analyzes the comparison of two methods, Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference (ANFIS) method, which belongs into the heuristic methods, and Multiple Linear Regression (MLP) method, which uses a mathematical approach. The performance of both methods is measured using the root mean square error (RMSE) and the mean absolute error (MAE) values. The data of the Swiss Basel city from Meteoblue are used to test the performance of the two methods being compared. The data are divided into four cases, being classified as the training data and the data used as predictions. The solar radiation prediction using the ANFIS method indicates the results which are closer to the real measurement results, being compared to the the use MLP method. The average values of RMSE and MAE achieved are 123.27 W/m2 and 90.91 W/m2 using the ANFIS method, being compared to 138.70 W/m2 and 101.56 W/m2 respectively using the MLP method. The ANFIS method gives better prediction performance of 12.51% for RMSE and 11.71% for MAE with respect to the use of the MLP method.
Stereo vision is one of the interesting research topics in the computer vision field. Two cameras are used to generate a disparity map, resulting in the depth estimation. Camera calibration is the most important step in stereo vision. The calibration step is used to generate an intrinsic parameter of each camera to get a better disparity map. In general, the calibration process is done manually by using a chessboard pattern, but this process is an exhausting task. Self-calibration is an important ability required to overcome this problem. Self-calibration required a robust and good matching algorithm to find the key feature between images as reference. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the performance of three matching algorithms for the autocalibration process. The matching algorithms used in this research are SIFT, SURF, and ORB. The result shows that SIFT performs better than other methods.
The increasing population in Indonesia is challenging rice production to feed more people while rice fields are being converted to other land-use land cover (LULC). This study analyzes land use in 2015, 2017, 2019, 2021, and 2025 using an artificial neural network cellular automata (ANN-CA) and rice data from Statistics Indonesia to predict future rice status in Malang Districts, Indonesia. The primary LULC change driver was the rapid conversion of rice fields, which had their area reduced by 18% from 2019 to 2021 and 2% from 2021 to 2025. Rice fields are mainly being converted to settlements and buildings. The Kappa coefficient of simulation achieved 88%, with 91 accuracies. The model predicted a 2% lower rate of rice production but a 3% higher demand in 2025 compared to 2021. Lower rice production and higher demand are predicted to reduce the rice surplus by 57% in 2025, suggesting that the Malang district might lower its supply of rice to other areas by 2025. Our study provides a food crisis early warning system that decision makers can use to form adequate strategic plans and solutions to combat food insecurity.
