Este texto visa descrever a vivência da Vigilância Epidemiológica e de residentes em saúde de diversos programas de residência, que desenvolveram uma ação de educação permanente na saúde voltada a profissionais de diferentes categorias, alocados em várias unidades de Saúde da Família pertencentes ao Distrito Sanitário I, situado na cidade de Recife, Pernambuco, Brasil, acerca do Monkeypox vírus. Trata-se de um estudo qualitativo, com abordagem descritiva, do tipo relato de experiência, sistematizado de acordo com o modelo de Oscar Jara e desenvolvido por meio da observação e da vivência de residentes em saúde e a preceptora do grupo, no mês de agosto de 2022. A utilização do recurso produzido serviu de roteiro-guia para o diálogo com os profissionais, trazendo mais clareza sobre a evolução clínica e cronológica do Monkeypox vírus, bem como sobre os fluxos até então estabelecidos pelos órgãos sanitários. A experiência evidenciou a importância de ações de educação permanente na saúde, tendo em vista que esse espaço contribuiu para o esclarecimento de informações acerca do Monkeypox vírus, informando e direcionando os profissionais de saúde, com a utilização de fontes confiáveis e a criação de um espaço aberto, democrático e dinâmico.
