Blood cockle (Anadara granosa) is one of the marine biotas that can be used as a bioindicator of the pollution level of sea water. The nature of blood cockle stays in one place because of their slow movement and they are non-selective filter feeders which filter water in order to get food. The use of activated charcoal during soaking is to keep the food safety from blood cockle contaminated with heavy metals. The purpose of this study is to determine the effectivity test of soaking duration on blood cockle (Anadara granosa) and activated charcoal toward reducing metals lead (Pb). This study employed Randomized Complete Design (RCD) using three different soaking periods such as 30 minutes, 60 minutes, and 90 minutes. The samples were analyzed by Inductively Coupled Plasma Emission (ICPE). The parametric data was analyzed with One Way Anova test. The result of the study showed that the soaking duration among 30 minutes, 60 minutes, and 90 minutes in activated charcoal showed significantly different (P< 0.05) toward the levels of lead.
Metabolite profiles of plant organs and their in vitro cultures of Justicia gendarussa have been studied by using Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography-Quadrupole Time-of-Flight-Mass Spectrometry (UPLC-Qtof-MS). Samples of leaves, stems, roots, and shoot cultures showed similar patterns of metabolites, while samples of root cultures gave very different profiles. Concentrations of secondary metabolites in shoot cultures were relatively low compared to those in the leaves and roots of the plants. The results suggested that secondary metabolites in J. gendarussa were biosynthetized in the leaves, then transported to the roots.
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving Averrhoa bilimbi leaf extract on sperm quality of diabetic mice. This research is a pure experimental (true experimental) with a post-test-only control group design approach. This research was conducted by giving Averrhoa bilimbi leaf extract as a treatment for 42 days in male mice. Sperm quality parameters observed included viability, abnormalities, motility in sperm. In all variables, the results of the data showing a normal distribution with a p-value > 0.05 were then carried out with a parametric test using one-way ANOVA. Averrhoa bilimbi leaf extract can increase the number of spermatogenic cells in male mice with hyperglycemia.
nemia in young women can cause decreased concentration in learning, lack of enthusiasm in activities, decreased memory and decreased learning ability at school. National prevalence of anemia in Indonesia reaches 21.7%, with anemia sufferers aged 5-14 years of 26.4% and 18.4% of patients aged 15-24 years with the highest prevalence in women. Iron nutrition anemia in adolescents becomes dangerous if not handled properly, especially in preparation for pregnancy and childbirth when they are adults. The solution related to the problem of anemia in adolescents can be in the form of providing a refresher on knowledge about good nutritional intake for students providing iron supplementation and checking Hb levels in female students. To determine the change in knowledge in adolescent students, a pre and post test was conducted using a knowledge questionnaire about the importance of iron supplementation followed by measuring the status of the risk of anemia. The data shows that the pretest results are 71.43% with sufficient knowledge and the post test shows that 100% of students have good knowledge. From the results of Hb examination, it was found that the average Hb value of female adolescent students was 12.5 gr / dl with the lowest value 11.2 gr / dl and the highest value 14.7 gr / dl. From these data it can be seen that the provision of KIE FE supplementation is useful for students of SMK Kesehatan Panca Atma Jaya Klungkung.
Analisis statistic dilakukan menggunakan program SPSS for windows 16,0 version.Hasil : Penurunan jumlah sel beta pancreas terjadi secara bermakna pada kelompok control dibandingkan dengan kelompok perlakuan (p<0,05) yaitu sebesar 32,19%.Kesimpulan : Aktivitas antioksidan A. bilimbi L. mampu mencegah penurunan jumlah sel beta pada tikus hiperglikemia.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
