Plants with medical properties are often enriched with endophytes that have the potential to produce important bioactive compounds. Endophytes after entering the plant tissue may either colonize a particular tissue or may spread throughout the host plant without causing damage. The possession of pharmaceutical and biological properties has made the Holostemma ada-kodien Schult as one of the widely used plants of medicinal importance in India. Following the direct cut method three endophytic bacterial strains (UC H1, UC H4 and UC H7) were isolated, identified and characterized from the healthy looking rhizome of H. ada-kodien. Among these isolates, UC H1 and UC H4 were found to have many properties like antibacterial compounds, hydrolytic enzymes and plant growth promoting traits. The isolate UC H4 have ability for Indole-3-Acetic Acid (IAA) production of 513.54 U/ml and very good protease and pectinase activities of 20.65 U/ml and 16.09 U/ml respectively. So far no reports are available on the endophytic microflora of H. ada-kodien.
In the rapidly-evolving modern civilization, the inspection, collection, and removal of rubbish waste
are seen as some of the major causes of dispute because their neglect will lead to
leverage unfavourable environmental impacts. A boring method is the conventional approach to
physically directing and gathering the garbage, as it necessitates require human labour and assets,
which raises expenses further. This study describes an open IoT platform-based trash-checking
system that works with an Arduino or Raspberry Pi board. The Arduino is a microcontroller included
in the suggested architecture. A Wi-Fi module, an ultrasonic sensor, and a large battery information
obtained from the load cell and ultrasonic sensor is achieved with the help of the Arduino
microcontroller. Making use of the depth of the debris in the water using an ultrasonic
sensor, resolved, and the volume and weight of the waste estimates are also made for the garbage cell's
receptacle. The LCD screen is used for showing the information. The displayed information is sent
to the web through the Wi-Fi module. An open IoT debate and Thingspeak used to adhere to the
garbage framework. In this context, the executive can successfully monitor and manage the waste
disposal.
Eugenia mooniana Wight. Is an aromatic plant with restricted distribution and native to India and Sri Lanka? The present work reports the volatile chemical composition of E. mooniana leaves and their antimicrobial activity against standard strain. The leaf essential oil was isolated by hydrodistillation method (oil yield 0.2%v/w), and analysed by GC-MS (Shimadzu Nexis GC 2030). Fourty four compounds were identified from the oil. The major class of compounds were sesquiterpenoids followed by monoterpenoids. Major compounds identified in the leaf oil were the monoterpenoids myrcene (2.8-%), β-ocimene (9.9%), and sesquiterpenoids caryophyllene (5.5%), δ-cadinene (12.1%), epi α-cadinol (7.5 %) and α-cadinol (12.9%). The antimicrobial activity oil was tested against bacteria and fungus strain by agar well diffusion method. The oil showed inhibitory activity against fungus Candida albicans and gram negative bacteria Proteus vulgaris, Salmonella typhii, Staphylococcus aureus and Vibrio fluvialis.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
