The authors describe refractive changes in 61 children with unilateral amblyopia who were followed-up for 10 years. In each case the change was towards myopia. The various factors affecting postnatal development of the eye are discussed.
Chemical analysis of the aqueous humour is an aid of great value in the study of the endocular fluid dynamics. The "secretory" nature of the aqueous humour has been proved by investigations of this type.Of the various components of the aqueous humour, some are present in higher concentrations, others in lower concentrations than in the plasma, and from these findings conclusions have been drawn in regard to their mode of entrance into the eye, viz. by active transportation (ultrafiltration and secretion) or by passive diffusion. If, for instance, a substance is present in the aqueous humour *) Received July 25th 1965.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
