This study examines construction waste generation and management in Taiwan. We verify the factors probable affecting the output of construction wastes by using data for the output of declared construction wastes produced from demolition projects in Taiwan in the last year, expert interviews, and research achievements in the past, and find “ on-site separation” is the factor with effects on the output of construction wastes via cross-correlation by algorithms such as K-Means and Decision Tree C5.0. It can be seen that the output (0.092(t/M3) with on-site separation or 0.329(t/M3) without on-site separation is highly correlated with the composition ratio of construction wastes and referred to as a valid conclusion.
It's an important topic that how to improve the illumination but decreasing or no increasing the electricity loads. The energy-efficient lighting equipment in the study was T5 lighting fixture combining with High-efficiency Reflector and Low-loss Diffuser Plate. The High-Efficiency Reflector could reflex the luminous energy above 97%. The illuminance could be improved largely through using the High-Efficiency Reflector without additional power. The High-Efficient Equipment illuminated the environment with low glare by the lights through the plate. Saving electricity was 47.5% and the measured illumination was increased more than 2 times in case one. The saving electricity was 30% and the measured illumination was increased about 1.5~2 times in case two. The specific benefits using energy-efficient lighting equipment were saving energy and enhance illumination. Cost of the investment achieved balance about 9.5~13.3 months. The additional value was a lighting environment with uniformity and low-glare. The energy-efficient lighting equipment could be an option of green construction.
Asset management is a method that transferred the assets into cost to management. The main object is that to calculate the value of assets and assess the benefit of investment. When utilized the asset management method on freeway pavement management, it must been founded on assets inventory and historic maintenance. To calculate all the cost of assets could list the value of all the assets. The most important work of asset management was assessing the assets. All the assets were analyzed the survival life of all the assets and find out period of the depreciation in the study. It is 8.9 years that the period between newly construction and first maintenance. It is 4.5 years that the period between maintenances. The assess model was set by the two periods. The results cross by the assess model was that the assets service level was great.
Taiwan's National Freeway plays an important role in Taiwan's transportation, it is convenient to go to anywhere through a series of north-south and east-west road networks, from this we can see, the freeway road quality is a project that always need to be concerned, and how to enhance the pavement quality of National Freeway will be the main subject of this study.In order to improve the comfort index of National Freeway in this study, we first understand the examination part of National Freeway, like road testing items and methods, and because the need of study, we need to organize the relevant information of National Freeway road comfort index and investigation processes, with the investigation and analysis processes, it is beneficial to maintain and enhance the comfort quality of National Freeway.
