Resumen: Las infecciones respiratorias son las enfermedades más comunes en la infancia. Entre estas infecciones la bronquiolitis aguda se considera como el cuadro respiratorio más importante en niños menores de seis meses siendo el virus sinci un virus ARN con dos subtipos A y B los cuales están presentes en la mayoría de los brotes. El VSR presenta un patrón predictivo de enfermedad dentro de la comunidad. En Costa Rica es el r de la mayoría de internamientos en niños con enfermedad respiratoria y su incremento ocurre en los meses de setiembre a noviembre el cual coincide con la época lluviosa del año. Existen factores de riesgo que predisponen para una enfermedad más malformaciones congénitas del corazón, fumado en la familia, hacinamiento entre otros. Los niños con infección por VRS presentan tos, congestión nasal y sibilancias, el diagnóstico de laboratorio se realiza mediante cultivo, detección de antígeno de VSR por medio de inmunofluorescencia o técnicas moleculares. El tratamiento para la infección es de soporte, dándole importancia a la hidratación y a la oxigenación. Se ha utilizado ribavirina para aquellos niños que presenten en lavarse las manos frecuentemente ayuda a prevenir la diseminación de la infección tanto en la comunidad como a nivel hospitalario. El anticuerpo monoclonal Palivizumab ha mostrado ser efectivo en prevenir cuadros severos de infección causada por VSR. La mortalidad es menos del 1% y ocurre predominantemente en pacientes de alto riesgo. Los primero 1982 y 1983 en el Instituto de Investigaciones en S se demostró que el VSR es responsable de la mayoría de los casos de bronquiolitis en niños menores de cinco años. Se realizó una encuesta auto-administrada y anónima a estudiantes matriculados en la Universidad de Costa Rica con el objetivo de identificar el nivel de conocimiento acerca del VIH-sida. Se logró recolectar un total de 497 cuestionarios durante el ciclo lectivo del año 2008. Los encuestados consideraron de alto riesgo los mecanismos de transmisión del VIH por medio de jeringas, agujas contaminadas y las relaciones sexuales con una persona infectada sin usar preservativos. Los resultados demuestran que los estudiantes obtuvieron una nota de 65,5 y no se encontraron diferencias en las calificaciones obtenidas por los entrevistados, ni por sexo ni por edad. Se recomienda un programa educativo sobre prevención de las infecciones de transmisión sexual y el VIH/sida.

Para isso, analisaram-se documentos nacionais de regulação do ensino no Brasil, buscando explorar possibilidades para apoiar a aprendizagem de crianças da educação infantil, valendo-se de práticas voltadas para construção de conceitos matemáticos e computacionais.

Se realizó una encuesta auto-administrada y anónima en la población estudiantil, durante el ciclo lectivo del año 2008 en las diferentes sedes que tiene la Universidad de Costa Rica en todo el país. Al final del trabajo de campo se logró recolectar un total de 497 cuestionarios. La distribución por sexo y edad representó en forma adecuada a la población estudiantil de la Universidad de Costa Rica donde no se dan grandes diferencias. La mayoría de los estudiantes son del área de Ciencias Sociales. El 86% de los estudiantes indicó haber tenido relaciones sexuales y el promedio de edad de inicio de las relaciones sexuales en ambos sexos, fue de 18 años. Un mayor porcentaje de las mujeres (43%) respecto a los hombres (38,7%) tuvieron la última relación sexual en menos de una semana. La monogamia y el uso de preservativo fueron considerados por la mayoría de los estudiantes como prácticas de sexo seguro. Al consultar a los encuestados donde habían recibido charlas, cursos sobre sexualidad o educación sexual, el sistema educativo fue la principal fuente de información sobre el tema.
