Health literacy, a more complex concept than knowledge, is a required capacity to obtain, understand, integrate and act on health information [1], in order to enhance individual and community health, which is defined by different levels, according to the autonomy and personal capacitation in decision making [2]. Medium levels of Health literacy in an adolescent population were found in a study conducted in 2013/2014, being higher in sexual and reproductive health and lower in substance use. It was also noticed that the higher levels of health literacy were in the area adolescents refer to have receipt more health information. The health literacy competence with higher scores was communication skills, and the lower scores were in the capacity to analyze factors that influence health. Higher levels were also found in younger teenagers, but in a higher school level, confirming the importance of health education in these age and development stage. Adolescents seek more information in health professionals and parents, being friends more valued as a source information in older adolescents, which enhance the importance of peer education mainly in older adolescents [3]. As a set of competences based on knowledge, health literacy should be developed through education interventions, encompassing the cultural and social context of individuals, since the society, culture and education system where the individual is inserted can define the way the development and enforcement of the health literacy competences [4]. The valued sources of information should be taken into account, as well as needs of information in some topics referred by adolescents in an efficient health education. Schizophrenia is a serious and chronic mental illness which has a profound effect on the health and well-being related with the well-known nature of psychotic symptoms. The exercise has the potential to improve the life of people with schizophrenia improving physical health and alleviating psychiatric symptoms. However, most people with schizophrenia remains sedentary and lack of access to exercise programs are barriers to achieve health benefits. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of exercise on I) the type of intervention in mental health, II) in salivary levels of alpha-amylase and cortisol and serum levels of S100B and BDNF, and on III) the quality of life and selfperception of the physical domain of people with schizophrenia. The sample consisted of 31 females in long-term institutions in the Casa de Saúde Rainha Santa Isabel, with age between 25 and 63, and with diagnosis of schizophrenia according to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV-TR). Physical fitness was assessed by the six-minute walk distance test (6MWD). Biological variables were determined by ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay). Purpose: The present study intends to explore the influence of education on the mental health of retired people and the mediating role of a leisure attitude in this relationship.Design/Methodology: The sample was simple random, and a confidentiality agreement was established. The sample was composed of 403 Portuguese participants (37.2% male; 62.8% female). The participants completed the MHI and the LAS.Findings: The hypothesized mediation model showed that a leisure attitude mediated the association between education and well-being. In addition, higher levels of distress were found in participants with higher levels of education.Scientific Contribution: Our results suggest that old-aged people with high education and a more positive leisure attitude have a better psychological adjustment concerning well-being. Also, a higher level of education can lead to a better perception of aging changes (physical, life, profession).

O papel desempenhado pela família e cuidadores no tratamento dos idosos é essencial para a promoção e manutenção da sua qualidade de vida, garantindo a sua manutenção do domicílio por um período de tempo mais alargado. Objetivo: Compreender a existência da sobrecarga do cuidador informal e os fatores associados (apoio disponíveis e perfil), bem como estudar o estabelecimento relacional entre o tempo e a sobrecarga. Metodologia: Um questionário de dados sociodemográficos e QASCI (Questionário de Avaliação da Sobrecarga do Cuidador Informal) aplicado a 30 cuidadores da região centro de Portuga. Resultados: São caraterísticas do perfil do cuidador, 45 anos, casado, existência de coabitação e razões relacionadas com o dever e a ligação emocional subjacente.

The aim of this research is to contribute for the understanding of psychological issues that are involved in the transition to higher education, and that can explain the problems of earlier school leavers. A sample of 1121 students of the University of Coimbra was assessed and divided in two groups of analysis: successful and unsuccessful students. It is necessary to take into account the student's study skills, work habits, time management, use of library and others facilities. This assessment may highlight the need for institutional interactions focused on interdisciplinary professionals and the resources of institutions.

Hence, it's also a powerful predictor of several functional and dysfunctional behaviors (Zimbardo & Boyd, 1999). Still, depending on the nature of the studied construct, different facets of TP should be considered. The objective of this study is to clarify the predictor power of TP in 4 constructs related to well-being. The sample is composed of 143 Portuguese College students, with ages between 17 and 54 years old. Through a series of Multiple Regression Analyses (Stepwise Method) TP appears as a moderate and signifi cant predictor of: Satisfaction with Life (Adj. R 2 = .165, p < .001); Interpersonal Relations (Adj. R 2 = .067, p < .01); Psychological Well-Being (Adj. R 2 = .207, p < .001) and Emotional Balance (Adj. R 2 = .115, p < .001). These results highlight the role that TP has in the prediction of an adaptive psychological functioning.

Increased human longevity has been attributed to technological and medical advances, as well as improved hygiene and nutritional conditions, access to health care, changes in eating habits and cognitive development strategies (Osório, 2007). The present study examined the influence of leisure actions in the psychological well-being, leisure attitude and distress of seniors. The sample consisted of 403 participants (37,2% male; 62,8% female). Concerning the perception of health condition, 82,6% subjects were considered independent and 17,4% participants were considered dependent. The instruments used were the MHI (Ribeiro, 2001) and the LAS (Freire & Fonte, 2007). Main results exposed that participants in leisure activities presented high level of well-being and attitude for leisure (p<0,05). Seniors that present big levels of distress indicated an intention to participate in activities of leisure that aided to decrease that symptom. Results showed that seniors health perception influenced the practice of a leisure activity [Hotelling's Trace = 0,077; F (3; 341) = 8,733; p = 0,00]. The results found helped to recognize the necessity, and importance, of leisure activities between seniors.
