De um lado estava a tentativa de resistir esteticamente ao arbítrio e a interrupção das experiências populares do período anterior; de outro, o entusiasmo com o sucesso da nova produção e com o alcance da indústria de massa. O artigo discute estas questões no texto e nas canções do espetáculo </span><em>Arena conta Zumbi</em><span>, de Augusto Boal e Gianfrancesco Guarnieri, bem como na releitura de Maria Bethânia em 1965 para </span><span>Vivo num tempo de guerra, </span><span>canção-chave do espetáculo e emblemática para o período. Por fim, analisa a crítica de Boal à cultura de esquerda pós-1964 no programa da </span><span>I Feira Paulista de Opinião</span><span>. </span></p></div></div></div>
<p>Este artigo analisa a peça Mutirão em Novo Sol escrita em 1961 no ambiente do Teatro Arena, assim como o histórico de suas montagens entre 1961 e 1963. Embora esquecida por mais de meio século, a peça foi marcante para o teatro engajado dos anos anteriores ao Golpe Militar de 1964 tanto por protagonizar experiências avançadas na cena como pela inovadora tentativa de composição épica na dramaturgia.</p>
Este trabalho se propôs a examinar a elaboração da melancolia em Moço em estado de sítio, de Oduvaldo Vianna Filho, escrita logo após o golpe militar de 1964. Por meio da leitura analítica dessa produção dramatúrgica, foi analisado de que forma as tensões e desavenças que permeiam as personagens centrais, bem como a própria estrutura da narrativa, traçam uma espécie de diagnóstico melancólico do país diante da fratura social e do mal estar advindos do regime militar, assim como da estagnação de uma geração de intelectuais e artistas que se viu, após 64, igualmente sitiada.
O artigo apresenta debate sobre a importante montagem da peça Roda viva, de Chico Buarque, em 1968, com a direção de José Celso Martinez Corrêa (Zé Celso). O espetáculo é incontornável para compreender a força explosiva daquele ano no Brasil. Apesar disso, é uma montagem na qual convivem esforços contraditórios revividos e agravados na retomada do espetáculo cinquenta anos depois, em 2018.
