Evolução do Espaço Agrário Fluminenseprocesso. Dentre estas inúmeras contradições, interessa-nos especialmente a resistência dos trabalhadores rurais ao avanço do capital especulativo, que é a marca dos conflitos fundiários no estado, inclusive na região metropolitana.Assim, ao longo deste artigoonde buscaremos analisar as formas principais de ordenamento do temtório que marcam o espaço fluminense, bem como as regionalizações daí surgidas, tomando o século XX como parâmetroestaremos permanentemente preocupados com a evolução destes conflitos.Apesar de não ignorarmos a importância dos processos ocorridos ao longo dos séculos anteriores para a definição do perfil da ocupação do espaço fluminense, nos concentraremos no século XX, por considerar que foi ao longo deste que ocorreram as transformações mais substanciais e importantes, do ponto de vista da questão.agrária e do ordenamento do território.Buscaremos destacar a configuração de novos recortes regionais a partir das transformações operadas no meio rural, resultantes da sua própria dinâmica, ou das influências dos processos de urbanização e metropolização. A periodização apresentada a seguir tem como critérios norteadores precisamente as mudanças na dinâmica sócioespacial fluminense que nos permitem identificar novos recortes espaciais e inflexões na relação entre o rural e o urbano no Rio de Janeiro.Solos de boa profundidade e fertilidade, clima tropical de altitude, ou seja, combinando expressiva insolação com uma temperatura amena e praticamente livre de geadas.
Há anos a reforma agrária é anunciada e não realizada no Brasil, perpetuando o quadro de alta concentração da terra, da renda e da riqueza no campo brasileiro e, dadas as conexões cada vez mais intensas entre campo e cidade, no conjunto da sociedade brasileira. Em pleno século XXI existem no Brasil 120 milhões de ha improdutivos e o latifúndio controla 280 milhões de ha. Agora o governo Temer pretende jogar a pá de cal na reforma agrária, em mais um episódio que demonstra na prática o significado do golpe. Praticamente não se desapropria mais terras, a criação de assentamentos foi abandonada e os lotes existentes nos antigos assentamentos estão sendo titulados em definitivo visando sua recolocação no mercado de terras. A se manter este quadro, em breve o pouco que foi realizado de “reforma agrária” no Brasil será revertido. Resta saber se os movimentos sociais que historicamente lutam pela democratização da terra no Brasil vão permitir mais este golpe ou vão se organizar para reverter esse quadro. Este texto traça um paralelo entre os dados históricos referentes à criação de assentamentos e desapropriação de terras no Brasil desde o final da Ditadura Empresarial-Militar a política de titulação estabelecida como prioridade pelo atual governo. Para embasar as análises utilizamos dados oficiais do Instituto Nacional de Colonização e Reforma Agrária (Incra) sobre assentamentos, desapropriações e titulação.

O projeto de FHC e o lugar da reforma agráriaÉ comum ouvirmos dizer que o governo FHC é neoliberal e muitas vezes o repetimos, sem definirmos exatamente o que queremos dizer com isso. Tentaremos resumir brevemente as características centrais que dão à política de FHC um sentido anti-popular e neoliberal e relacioná-la com a questão da reforma agrária.
A contaminação por agrotóxicos é uma das maiores preocupações ambientais e de saúde pública na atualidade. Os efeitos desses produtos atingem não só áreas rurais, mas a população como um todo. Vargem Alta, localizada na Região Serrana do Rio de Janeiro, possui tradição na produção de olerícolas e destaque no cultivo de flores como: crisântemos, rosas, palmas, tango, gérberas, entre outras. Este trabalho tem como objetivo avaliar os problemas de saúde por exposição aos agrotóxicos dos trabalhadores na floricultura. A metodologia consistiu na aplicação de um questionário específico para os agricultores, agentes de saúde e técnicos em Vargem Alta e adjacências, para obter dados sobre os principais sintomas relatados. Os resultados demonstraram expressiva utilização de agrotóxicos; fragilidade da fiscalização; descompasso entre as medidas mínimas de segurança; ausência de uso de equipamentos de proteção individual e descarte inadequado de embalagens. Entre os sintomas mais relatados destacam-se: problemas de nervos; endócrinos; neurológicos; respiratórios; hepáticos; alergias; hipertensão; diabetes; diarréias; dores no corpo e vertigens. Nesse sentido, práticas sustentáveis precisam ser estimuladas, com políticas públicas mais efetivas voltadas para lugares e situações de risco por exposição em áreas rurais.
