El cobro de aranceles por parte de las instituciones de educación superior constituye una característica distintiva del sistema chileno desde hace ya décadas. Con independencia de la propiedad de los centros educativos, cada uno de ellos fija, año tras año, y autónomamente, el precio que debe pagar un individuo (o quien lo beque o le dé crédito) por cursar un programa de formación. Ello, sumado al incremento acelerado de la oferta en términos de instituciones, sedes, vacantes y carreras, ubica a Chile entre los países con mayor gasto privado en educación superior y uno de los lugares ideales para explorar el comportamiento de lo que se ha llamado "mercado de la educación".Resulta interesante, en este contexto, examinar los valores de los aranceles de las carreras actualmente ofrecidas en el sistema de educación superior, en la medida en que constituyen el precio que los usuarios están dispuestos a pagar por la entrega de un servicio educativo y, por lo tanto, su determinación no es casual ni azarosa.En ello están en juego los mecanismos de mercado, pero también elementos como las valoraciones sociales y las expectativas de individuos y grupos sociales. Y especialmente en el caso de la educación, no podría ser de otro modo, pues no es un asunto neutral en la medida en que es concebido como un derecho de todas las personas, a pesar de que opere con mecanismos de mercado. Desde hace algún tiempo, el Consejo Superior de Educación (CSE) viene desarrollando una línea de investigación y análisis, cuyo objetivo es caracterizar el sistema de educación superior chileno. Parte de este esfuerzo ha sido posible gracias a la información acumulada a lo largo de los últimos años en la base de datos INDICES1 , la cual constituye, en la actualidad, una fuente esencial de consulta para los interesados en iniciar una descripción sincrónica y diacrónica de las instituciones, programas y usuarios en lo que respecta, por ejemplo, a la distribución geográfica de las alternativas académicas y el uso de las mismas.

RESUMEN:El objetivo de este estudio fue realizar una revisión de la literatura respecto de la importancia del líquido sinovial en la articulación temporomandibular y sus implicancias en la patología articular. El líquido sinovial corresponde a un fluido viscoso y filante de color amarillento claro, compuesto principalmente por proteínas plasmáticas, componentes celulares, moléculas lubricantes, citoquinas, factores de crecimiento y enzimas. Es producido por la membrana sinovial y se encuentra en relación directa con las superficies articulares y la membrana sinovial, mediando las interacciones entre los tejidos de las articulaciones sinoviales. En la articulación temporomandibular desempeña un papel fundamental en el mantenimiento y regulación de la fisiología, a través de funciones lubricantes, reguladoras y metabólicas, disminuyendo el roce de las superficies articulares durante todos sus movimientos. En los trastornos temporomandibulares, la composición y función del líquido sinovial se puede ver alterada por cambios en los tejido de la articulación temporomandibular, estos cambios pueden resultar en una disminución en la capacidad de lubricar las superficies articulares y generar un ambiente catabólico en el interior de la articulación, contribuyendo conjuntamente al deterioro de éstas.PALABRAS CLAVE: Líquido sinovial; Articulación temporomandibular; Trastornos temporomandibulares; Osteoartritis. INTRODUCCIÓNEl líquido sinovial (LS) es un fluido viscoso transparente que constituye un ultrafiltrado del plasma. El LS contiene diversos componentes que le confieren propiedades lubricantes, metabólicas y regulatorias, que disminuyen la fricción y desgaste del cartílago articular (Hui et al., 2012), siendo característico de las articulaciones sinoviales. Las articulaciones sinoviales normalmente presentan un ligamento capsular (LC) junto a una membrana sinovial (MS) que contiene al LS en una cavidad que rodea al cartílago y hueso articular (Hui et al.).Dentro de la articulaciones sinoviales se encuentra la articulación temporomandibular (ATM), donde el LS se comporta como una fina película de gel viscoso que lubrica la superficie articular (Kristensen et al., 2014). Se ha propuesto que la composición y función del LS se ven alterados en patologías articulares como la osteoartritis, produciendo un desequilibrio en la homeostasis de este.El objetivo de este estudio fue realizar una revisión de la literatura respecto de la importancia del líquido sinovial en la articulación temporomandibular y sus implicancias en la patología articular.Membrana y líquido sinoviales. El presente artículo informa sobre un estudio exploratorio que caracteriza los reclamos de usuarios en contra de universidades, institutos profesionales (IP) y centros de formación técnica (CFT), a través de los sistemas de consulta de organismos relacionados con el sistema de educación superior o con la supervisión de la entrega de estos servicios. Se busca dar cuenta del tipo de instituciones contra las que se reclama, del organismo público seleccionado para expresar la queja, el tema que ocasiona la molestia y el periodo académico en que se origina el problema. Se derivan conclusiones acerca de qué conflictos son transversales y cuáles tienden a hacerse visibles de modo preferente respecto de cierto tipo de instituciones o a través de determinado tipo de órganos públicos de consulta.
