A proposta deste artigo é descrever a qualidade de vida de mulheres residentes em comunidades rurais no município de São Francisco de Paula, no Rio Grande do Sul (RS). Como ferramenta metodológica, foi utilizado um questionário contendo o instrumento WHOQOL-bref (World Health Organization Quality Of Life – BREF), aplicado em quatro dos 14 grupos de mulheres rurais, acompanhados pela Empresa Riograndense de Assistência Técnica e Extensão Rural (EMATER/RS-Ascar). As comunidades designadas aleatoriamente para a pesquisa foram Juá, Recosta, Lajeado Grande e Lava Pés. Como resultado, verificou-se que a qualidade de vida das mulheres nas quatro comunidades rurais pesquisadas foi positiva, dentro de um ponto de corte em (60%), em que os domínios das relações sociais e físicas receberam um maior destaque por se tratar de um grupo de mulheres sem restrições para a realização de suas atividades diárias.
A agricultura familiar no Brasil constitui uma forma de produção e trabalho que foi historicamente marginalizada. Tal circunstância é fruto do legado colonial do país e do processo de modernização assimétrico da agricultura nacional implantada com mais força a partir da segunda metade dos anos 1960 (AQUINO; SCHNEIDER, 2015). A modernização da agricultura intensificou essas desigualdades, pois não privilegiou uma parcela de agricultores existentes, marginalizando, por vezes, alguns segmentos de produtores pela falta de acesso ao crédito, à assistência técnica, dentre outros benefícios. Aquino e Schneider (2015) comentam que no final de 1980, em meio ao processo de redemocratização, os movimentos sociais do campo iniciaram ações no sentido de motivar a criação de políticas para compensar os efeitos nocivos da política econômica do período da ditatura militar (1964-1985). Foi nessa época, em que o Brasil se encontrava em um contexto histórico de crise econômica e de reformas liberais, que se iniciaram as experiências e os estudos voltados ao desenvolvimento territorial (DANTAS; COSTA, 2014).
O presente artigo teve como objetivo central registrar o 3º Simpósio de Gestão Ambiental realizado na UERGS em São Francisco de Paula/RS. O artigo contextualiza a temática do evento, territórios hídricos e mercados ambientais e retoma as ações interinstitucionais e em rede que foram realizadas. Diferentemente do primeiro e do segundo Simpósios que focaram principalmente na atuação do gestor ambiental no mercado de trabalho, a terceira edição do SiGA surge com uma programação mais diversificada tendo dois encontros paralelos, sendo um voltado à educação ambiental e outro ao território rural dos Campos de Cima da Serra. Além disso, essa edição adquire um caráter mais científico oportunizando a difusão de pesquisas em âmbitos local e regional. Outra novidade nessa edição foram as atividades de ensino com a oferta de minicursos e oficinas que tiveram grande adesão do público. A metodologia utilizada se reporta à análise documental de textos e projetos que embasaram os Simpósios, bem como, relatos de experiências. O artigo, além de servir como arquivo pode embasar propostas, metodologias e ações de extensão preocupadas com a questão ambiental.
Nas últimas décadas, o Brasil vem registrando diversos conflitos ambientais em decorrência da implantação de projetos de desenvolvimento como hidrelétricas, mineração, rodovias, ferrovias, usinas nucleares, entre outros. No Nordeste brasileiro, o projeto que mais atraiu olhares foi o Projeto da Transposição do Rio São Francisco. A promessa do Governo Federal é de beneficiar milhões de pessoas nos estados do Ceará, Pernambuco, Paraíba e Rio Grande do Norte com o sistema de captação de água. Diante desse cenário, este estudo apresenta uma abordagem qualitativa em busca compreender o Programa de Desenvolvimento das Comunidades Quilombolas e os conflitos ambientais em torno de sua efetivação na Comunidade Quilombola Santana, no município de Salgueiro, Pernambuco. Em linhas gerais, os principais resultados apontam que a maioria das ações propostas pelo programa não haviam sido implementadas na comunidade. A partir das análises evidência que os principais conflitos se dão devido à inefetividade de distribuição d’água do Velho Chico.
A pesquisa adotou a fotografia como recurso para revisitar memórias individuais e coletivas e identificar significados que compõem o lugar a partir da percepção dos moradores da Área de Proteção Ambiental (APA) Rota do Sol, Rio Grande do Sul (RS). Os participantes dispuseram suas coleções de fotografias, que junto às narrativas mostraram as percepções e relações de pertencimento com o local, servindo de base à compreensão e interpretação dos significados que compõem o lugar. Deste modo tomamos a fotografia como um dispositivo de narrativas e, à luz da iconologia, realizamos uma discussão sobre a memória e os significados de relevância trazidos pelos participantes, dispostos em 2 macrotemas: Araucária: um significado simbólico associado ao afetos, às emoções e à memória (3.1) e As mudanças no uso do solo influenciando a produção, o trabalho e a organização social (3.2). Deste modo, identificando elementos que mantém viva a cultura local. Para embasar as discussões partimos do estudo teórico-epistemológico em relação ao uso da fotografia como instrumento de pesquisa e dispositivo de memória, bem como, exploramos o conceito de paisagem. O estudo nos possibilitou entender as relações que ligam as pessoas ao lugar, as formas de produção, trabalho e organização social, mediante dados da memória coletiva não antes analisados. O uso da fotografia possibilitou levantar informações que vão muito além do plano objetivo na imagem impressa, proporcionando explorar e analisar os aspectos implícitos e subjetivos e reconhecer significados importantes à comunidade local.
